The game doesn't has native controller support, but you can use software like Xpadder to map all the neccesary buttons to a controller.

I've done it myself and it's definatly playable. Just takes some time to get used to the layout.

I really don't remember what each button does though, but all the important buttons are mapped.
For combat I believe you hold LT to ready your weapon once equipped, and you use one of the control sticks to attack.

I'll see what I can list later today.
