Lares glitch

Long story short: Lares could not lead me to water mages, so I came there alone. I gave them two parts of ornament but I could not give Saturas letter from Vatras. (As I know it's because I came there without Lares.)
So how to fix Lares? He doesn't want to go anywhere with me.

Do you have Union?
Try installing Union Plugin called "Marvin Helper". It allows you to edit game variables directly in-game, it's much better than Gothic Variable Editor. I'll tell you what the variables are one you have it installed.


Alternatively, you can send me your save (use easyupload io) and I'll try sorting this out for you.

It's been 2 hours and your message is stuck at "This comment is awaiting analysis by our automated content check system. It will be temporarily hidden until we verify that it does not contain harmful content (e.g. links to websites that attempt to steal information)."

he give you his ring. put on it and go to baltram in city. he will talk to you and lares will be free

So after looking into it I don't think any edits are needed.

Did you give Nefarius all the ornaments? You will only get the option to give Vatras' message to Saturas when you give Nefarius all ornaments and the creation of portal key. I tested it and you still need to give him 1 ornament. When I spawned it I could give him the message after the ritual.

I had two pieces of ornament before. First piece was near Onar's farm. Second piece... I don't remember. Maybe Vatras or Lares gave me? Anyway... I came to Saturas. He took one piece. Then I could give Nefarius the second piece. (So I need two more.) Saturas said that one of the pieces is located in the forest, but I should find someone to accompany, so I came back to Lares. Lares said something like "Sure. Tell me when you are ready to go." But then dialogue option disappeared for some reason. I decided to ignore this, and went to the last piece which should be near Lobart's farm. I pressed all 3 buttons but nothing happened. Someone told me that Cavalorn should tell me something about the last piece, but he does not.

Weird, I took your unedited save, went to Cavalorn and everything works. There's "Szukasz czegos" dialogue, then you have to go to Hagen to get the ornament.

And the other ornament where Lares won't help you with, Lares is not needed at all here.

There is a stone circle deep in the forest behind Akil's farm, you can press all buttons and take the ornament, but there are some dangerous mobs on the way.

Vatras kazał mi dostarczyć list do Saturasa. Powiedział, żebym polazł z Laresem. Problem w tym, że Lares nie chciał mnie zaprowadzić. Myślę że to wszystko wina tego leniwego Laresa.

no to lares ci się zbugował, zawsze ci kody jeszcze zostały na ornament

Wtf. I saved my game on another slot and Cavalorn just teleported to stone circle. He was in a cave near Xardas' tower before. Weird.

Anyway.

I have never asked him to go with me anywhere, because I was afraid of the bug. (Someone told me that it's glitchy.) But it happened... even though I was trying to avoid this bug as much as possible. Funny :p

Update: I managed to collect every piece of ornament and opened the portal :) Lares is still broken, but I hope it will not prevent me from completing the game. Thanks for help.
