Undead Dragon!!
Finally got to the Undead Dragon, and with level 41 Fire Mage with over 700 HP and 294 Mana, I can't seem to lay a glove on him! I summon Demons, and he chews them up while taking very little damage--I guess that is rapid health regeneration he has....My spells do no damage and just seem to make him angry--LOL--I tried shrinking him, freezing him, and still no damage at all. A demon or two worked for the other dragons, but nothing seems to bother this guy. I am running out of ideas here--not sure that God mode would work since I am not exactly a paragon of melee damage...
I am not sure I have a save before coming to Irdaroth (?), and not sure I want to do it over again anyway. Any ideas???

Afair Icewave works. Also just using the Dragon bow you can kill him in no time. Did you try summon multiple skeletons and then firerain all of them?

Also one or two demons always did the trick for me. Just dont watch but try to hit the dragon as well so he gets distracted from the demon.

Thanks, but there was something wrong I think--I summoned Demon after Demon, and he took no damage from them. I thought one or two would be enough, but they failed to put a dent in him. I ended up using Marvin Mode and the "kill" command and even that took four or five hits to kill him!
I was surprised to find that was the end of the game too! I played years ago, and I thought I remembered attacking the Orc Pallisade in VoM, but that never happened. Also, I never got a chance to learn any Circle Six magic spells. I think Chapter Six triggered after I was on the ship heading for the final boss, so Circle Five was as far as I got...I must have done something wrong there I guess...
Well, anyway, great game! I wish I hadn't had to cheat on the final dragon, but it seemed necessary. No way I was going to do the last chapter over again...heh...

Did you talk to the undead dragon? Because if not then he is invincible and you cant damage him afair. Or did you forget to load the Eye of Innos before the final battle (dont remember if that is even possible)?

I dont remember if you can learn 6th circle already before you go on the boat but afair you can take Vatras and Milten with you and they teach you.

And yes you wont attack the orc palisade because there is nothing behind it besides a easter egg sign. But you can open the castle gates in chapter 5 and it will spawn about 20 orcs with elites and shamans in the castle who will kill all the paladins there ^^.

Yep, I did talk to him first except for the last time when I used Marvin. I forgot to equip the Eye for one of the earlier dragons, but could still talk to him and so I concluded that it was only necessary to have it in inventory--maybe that is incorrect...It still had to be recharged after defeating the earlier dragons, so not sure...I didn't think Milten could teach 6th Circle...LOL--I did take him along, but never tried learning them from him. The last part might have been a bit easier if I had picked up a couple of the new spells...

BIG THING HERE:

All of the dragons have a life regeneration the speed of which IS BASED ON YOUR FRAMERATE. This game can easily run in the hundreds of frames per second, making the fights extremly hard on newer hardware.

If you use the dx11 renderer, press F11 and set the framerate cap to 60 ( or 30, I don't really know what the original engine's framerate limits were ) for the duration of the fight.

Also a good spell to use against the dragons is the ice wave, which freezes them in place. The standard ice block cannot do this.

Thanks! That regen tied to frame rate is very interesting! Also, I may have messed things up by not equipping the Eye, even though I talked to the Dragon...
Started a Gothic I game and looking forward to the remake!

Wow!

https://youtu.be/X0lbg705CVo I made this video as a demonstration a long time ago. When his regeneration kicks in at 26 fps I can easily take him down, but at 160+ he regenerates faster than I can draw the next arrow.

In Irdorath this can be especially wonky due to the framerate going far over 400 even on my old pc.

I think this does not work in NotR. Not 100% sure though.

That explains a lot.
