Gothic 2 in 2019

I just got a corrupted G1 save in the beginning of Chapter 6 and I consider I am done with this game ^^
Now moving to G2 Gold Edition and all its needed fixes.
Could someone confirm this fairly old video is still up to date ?

Also do you recommend I install L'Hiver for a first playthrough ? I read there is a graphic update only option, if so where it is ?

I spent some time online but it's all old news and pretty confusing.

I wouldn't recommend "normal" l'hiver on first playthrough as it adds new stuff and increases difficulty by making enemies tougher, adding hunger,thirst,sleep and all.

You might consider installing Wasteland mod, it adds some areas in Mine Valley
