I wouldn't recommend "normal" l'hiver on first playthrough as it adds new stuff and increases difficulty by making enemies tougher, adding hunger, thirst, sleep and all.
You can download L'Hiver graphics only from there:
https://forum.worldofplayers.de/forum/threads/1391645-L-Hiver-Edition-Grafikpatch-f%C3%BCr-Gothic-2
(Warning, L'Hiver requires Direct3D11 Renderer, you need to install it first before L'Hiver)
It's compatible with DX Renderer and all the other improvements right?
Merlins Texture Pack :D
