Money is hardly an issue in this game, since you can pick up everything and sell it. Even if you don't do that, just by exploring and doing quests you can find more money than you need.
Small fire storm does nothing to ice golems though, you need large fireball to kill those in chapter 4. It's also great for killing dragons. Fist of wind is the other way to kill seekers. 2 fully charged casts kill a seeker. Ice Lance and Fireball are also amazing. You can kill a lot of things with just those 2 Second circle spells (dragon snappers). A lot of spells are there just for roleplay value. Circle 5 is super redundant since you get access to Circle 6 spells 10 mins later into the game.
Magic is insanely overpowered in this game, its just not as straightforward as pumping all your LP into strength and weapon skill and wielding the best swords in the game by the end of chapter 1.
I mean, it's great that you've spent so much time and effort into helping out less experienced and newer players with this guide, but you need to change a few things to it to make it better.
Everything you mentioned I stated in there.
As for the difficulty and money, I had a lot of people say Gothic II mage is really hard, so they had to learn melee and hardly ever use magic, or just used cheats for infinite mana, because they quickly ran out of mana potions and money, because they tried to use wrong spell on wrong enemies.
I agree that for me this was really easy, but for other people who haven't spent over 20 hundred this may be indeed a little challenging.
I did. Just don't get the gimp of not being able to use any non magic combat or level up secondary skills since that messes a lot with actual game progression and you have to skip major parts of the game. Also if you manage your skills properly you literally have more than enough LP to learn everything.
I disagree with some of the spells utility that you mention. Such as for summon golem. Not only is it useless on more than 2 seekers, it can't do anything against orcs or genuinely strong opponents. Also there are tons of scrolls for that spell so it's super poinless to learn on a rune. Even more so if you have summon zombie from claw of Beliar since they do a lot of damage and it's a free spell. They can also kill dragons of you freeze the dragon and summon enough of them.
Wave of death is better than fire rain since it hits twice, yes. But it takes more than twice as long to cast. And unless you have over 800 health at late game the orc elites will have ripped you to shreds before you cast it.
Lightning is also ass since 3 or 4 casts leave Lizardmen on 1HP forcing you to spend another 30 mana just to finish them off which is bs. And you need to cast it around 10 times on orc elites to kill them. That's 300 mana. You're better of stacking Storm.
I only learn a bit of melee for the start to get my game rolling as a mage. And by that I mean only increasing 1h weapon skill to 30 and a bit of dexterity for picking pockets since that let's you finish certain quests and is a big sources of XP and gold. The moment I become a mage and have access to spells I use them.
I think playing as a pure mage is ass since it makes the early game as tedious and annoying as humanly possible, but fun is subjective, so what do I know?
Edit: the shrink monster scroll that Zuris sells is for the black troll. The rune itself is pointless since the spell costs 300 mana and it works on a single target, but you can use it on orcs and other beasts. Just not on humans.
Single Golem can easily keep killing seekers until the Golem's time runs out and he dies, so that's about 10-12 Seekers.
How is Pure Mage tedious? You literally do everything that you normally do on other playthroghs, just that you skip fights which should make it even less tedious.
Skipping other skills is for the sake of the "Mage" part in the title. Besides you don't skip any large or smaller parts of the game by not learning other things. You don't use other combat skills because that's the point of the challange.
And the hunting/thieving skills do not fit the character of a mage, nor do you really need them. What are you talking about?
The rest of this I couldn't understand...
To become a citizen you need to fulfill a quest from every master. Tell me, how are you supposed to get the 6 wolf skins or orc weapon without melee or fighting with swords? Without removing fur you can't ask Bartok to go to the woods with you and farm the orc and animals there. And you'll need like 6 fireball scrolls to kill one orc warrior and to cast those you need 30 mana. Spending 6 fireball scrolls on an orc is stupid since those can easily be killed with melee. Yes, there is an orcish weapon in a cave outside of Khorinis, but there are small animal mobs in front of it, which are so weak that its bordering r tarded to use scrolls on them. Also if you tell me "Oh I'll run to the other end of the map to get those 6 Wolf skins" that's literally skipping a ton of the game just to finish a quest that should be limited to the city and first zone in the game. So, yes. Pure mage is dumb. And without forging or skinning you can't make any money as an apprentice since the last thing you want to do is give the mushrooms to Constantino. So, you can't even make the claim that playing solely as a mage without leveling any secondary skill isnt tedious and makes the game feel more exhausting.
I'm saying that A GOLEM CAN'T KILL MORE THAN 2 SEEKERS AT ONCE, BECAUSE THEY HAVE NO MAGIC RESISTANCE AND SEEKERS MELT THEM WITH THEIR SPELLS. At least that's my experience with golems. Also you learn to summon golem before you leave to fight the dragons. You will have already killed the majority of the Seekers by running around the island fulfilling the new quests unless you skip vast amounts of the game to rush the story to get better spells. So, again, pointless spell.
If you can't understand this, I'm sorry, but you might want invest a few LP into English.
I can barely understand anything from your wording, you oftenly seem to contridict youself.
"A GOLEM CAN'T KILL MORE THAN 2 SEEKERS AT ONCE, BECAUSE THEY HAVE NO MAGIC RESISTANCE AND SEEKERS MELT THEM WITH THEIR SPELLS."
He said a single golem can kill 10 seekers, therefore a Seeker and a large group of them can not "melt" a golem.
You don't have to do quest for Bosper, in fact I never do it. If you really want to, you can just pick the skins and give it to him later while you are back from monastery and going to deliver the message to Hagen.
Other apprentices are not suited for a mage, and the money you get from Consantino is more than enough, you don't need tropies or sword forging at all.
You also don't have to fight an orc to get his weapon, you can take it from the cave, and the "Uber-Dangerous" monsters in that cave are simple rats, you can just run through them and pick up the weapon before they even get to hit you, if they do, you barely loose any health.
Summon a golem in front of the seekers on Lobart's Farm where they keep Vino. The seekers will kill the golem before he does anything. A golem may be able to kill 10 seekers, but they have to be separate from one another. Not grouped up like in the case I pointed. Also, please point where exactly where I contradict myself, because I'm fairly certain that the points I have made are very clear. I'll be happy to clarify if you can't understand something.
No, Golem can easily take on multiple Seekers, even if they attack him. Even then, Seekers always target you, not your Golem, so it literally doesn't make any difference, since you just dodge fire balls as your seeker is quickly taking them one by one.
You might need to invest more in reading comprehension. I literally said all of what you said.
In your first paragraph, by "them" I meant golems. If I have to explicitly point out such stuff than you must have some difficulties related to reading. Golems die easily to ice lance and fireball(or at least ice lance, don't remember entirely) . Creatures with high magic resistance don't die easily to tier 2 spells.
I also said how you can finish the quest for Bosper in the quoted comment, so another paragraph of inane rambling by you. Good job!
Yes, give the mushrooms that increase your max mana, which is very important to you as a mage, to some guy who gives you 10 gold coins for each, instead of giving items that won't hamper your character progression such as skins or swords. Truly a pro gamer move there.
Never called the cave über dangerous. You did. No idea why you put quotation marks there, but I guess if it makes you feel more secure, sure. I never claimed the monsters were dangerous. What I said that they're so weak that using spells on them is a waste. Again, proof that you can barely understand English There's also 2 bloodflies, but they're not in front of the cave, so it doesn't count, I guess. But ye, skipping experience needed for leveling up and just running through these areas is literally skipping huge parts of the game for no reason outside of gimping yourself. .

Quality response. It's more than obvious that you two are buddies, so arguing with either of you is pointless. Go touch each other's weeners or whatever you do.
The only thing that melt are my eyes. Invest into forming a sentence and forming comprehensible points
here is what i would add
if you get into monastery you can buy magic wand, who needs 25mana to equip and gives bonus 20 mana.
if you enter 2nd chapter you can find amulet of enlightenment in a semi secret spot not far from cavalorn.
why am i telling this? well you see in nights of raven there is an mana abuse
if you have 0 mana and if you unequip all mana bonus items and equip em again you get net mana
for my mage build i got magic wand +20 mana Amulet of enlightenment +10mana ring of enlightenment+10 mana and one ring that gives +5mana
if i unequip all of em and equip them back on i get 45mana to use without drinking eny mana potions.
