Gothic II: Gold Classic

Literally can't kill dragons in the 4th chapter
- I have a level 38 Paladin with : 100% crit chance 2 handed weapon skill
: 127 strength (while using the Battleaxe)
: 674 hp (while using Knigths armor)

- The dragons just fry me every single time and I can't even really get to them

- When I pop all of my strength upgrades (permanent stat increasing potions, stone tablets and such) before the fights I can defeat em but I really want to save them for the end of the game

- When I try and summon stone golems or skeletons to distract them for me they just get killed in a very short amount of time

- At the start of the chapter I beat up Biff and took his weapon (cause he was talking ♥♥♥♥ and I wasn't gonna have it) without really thinking about what I've done so now he's useless

I've already killed the swamp dragon with Cipher and Rod but the fire and ice one give me a lot of trouble and I haven't really found the stone one yet, with how the things have turned out so far I just can't see myself defeating any of them.

I'm kind of torn about what to do, if anyone could give me a hint on what I should do or really help in any kind of way I'd really appreaciate it.

Alright then;

One of them you can kill with a shrinking scrolls that is sold either by potion vendor in khorinis or by one of the mages in the monastery

Summon demon is pretty much cheating at this point, he can tank the dragon for like a good minute or even kill them

If all the scrolls are wasted, buy a bunch of goblin summon scrolls, spam them before the fight and let them tank around 10-15 hits. If you dont deal damage tho, cant help you

Enjoy!

Thanks dude, I'll go try everything you said right away. :praisesun:
STR 127 is low at level 38. Either you've applied permanent STR bonuses too early, or you've missed many of them.

After playing like at least 500hrs on this game, I still don't know how anyone can defeat dragons with melee only.

I haven't used any permanent bonuses at all yet(aside from the HP ones and those that increase the 2 handed skill training), though I'm probably going to start using them now that I've reached the 5th chapter, I have 14 potions of strength, a bunch of strength stone tablets, a bunch of apples/meat stews and other consumables, plus I haven't yet invested anything into the shrines of Innos, haven't given any money to Daron in Khorinis, haven't learned from Erol how to punch harder etc. I'm planning on doing all of that in this chapter once I slaughter everything that I can without messing up the main story line. :steammocking:

Cmon, cut me some slack it's my first playthrough after all.

Yeah it seems pretty insane, I've heard that you can avoid getting knocked down with the fire by dashing but still, with the regenerating health thing it doesnt really seem doable to me.

Use the permanent bonus stuff ,it´s there for a reason.

Already done with the playthrough. Don't worry I did use everything right before boarding the ship to Irdorath.
