I've been trying to install the System Pack

I cannot seem to figure out how to change the Destination Folder somewhere else. The install button continues to be greyed, no matter what directory I select. Does it need to be in the System folder or something?

The game's installation folder. Such as
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\gothic ii\
or wherever your Steam installed games are stored.

I tried, wouldn't do anything. Install is still greyed out.

I believe it looks for /system/Gothic2.exe. (not sure) Anyway, if it is still grey, try to check for 'Enable Button' program. This little utility should allow you to force this button to appear.

The button is greyed out because you didn't install the patches necessary for the gothic system pack correctly.

Install all the patches again and select the installation folder manually.

The correct installation folder is always the Gothic 2 main folder and never the system folder.

What community patch are you talking about?

First you need the Gothic 2 fix:

and then the Gothic 2 Player kit:
http://www.bendlins.de/nico/gothic2/gothic2_playerkit-2.6f.exe

After that you can install the gothic 2 system pack
http://dl1.worldofplayers.ru/games/gothic/patches/systempack/g2notr-systempack-1.6.exe

I had the same problem. I just had to start the game once and after that I could install the systempacks. Probably the game generates a certain file, which the systempack needs, when starting for the first time.
