Level suggestion to go Merc test?
I've been challenging me and kind of getting places too dangerous - it's fun :steamhappy: I'm now level 6 (i think) and i want to join Mercs. What would be good level to go to the test? I think level 6 is way too early? :steamsad:

Depends on how you've spent your skill points. If you have 30+ strength and are already at "Fighter" level with 1 handed weapons, you should be able to pass the test of the mercenaries pretty easily. Well, the test itself. You will still have to impress the other mercenaries on the farm if you want to join. And to do that you'll need to win some duels. Some are fairly easy, others not so. Fester and Dar for instance are easy. But the other mercenaries(like Raoul or Bulco) can more or less knock you out in 1 hit, so buy all the Ice Block spells that Zuris has. I guess that, if you've hit level 6 before leaving the city you should be able to go to the mercenaries and, by the time you reach them, level up a few times and join them without too much trouble.

Yeah, i'm ranged character so my str is weak, i'm wondering if i can pull it off just buying some kick ass scrolls. Maybe i take it easy and build character some more. Beauty of this game.

If you don't have strength, you can use the Sword. It's got ok stats and has a fairly long reach. You won't be able to pass Rods challenge, but whatever.

You can beat any living creature quite easily with a sleep spell.
You sleep someone/thing, and then you just mash them to death without stopping: they will freeze and you'll be able to kill them without any resistance.

So either buy sleep spell or become an apprentice of Innos.
Sleep is one of the very first spells you can learn.

Thanks! Yeah, i already made preparations and bought bunch of ice block and fire rain :D It's going to be interesting. Going to do one level up to beef up dex little bit. Using Sword at the moment, but i'm wondering is there any better dex sword available somewhere?

Yes, there are, but not many.
The next dexterity sword that you can get is the rapier. You can find it next to a skeleton on the ground where the two trolls near the farm are. It requires 50 dexterity points to use it and deals 100 damage. It also gives a +10 to 1-handed weapons skill.
The next dexterity weapon that you can get is the master sword. You can get it by either killing Ramirez or Cassia of the thieves guild, or from Xardas' old tower in the Valley of Mines. I can't remember if you can find it somewhere else. It requires 60 dex and deals 120 damage and gives a +12 1-handed weapon bonus.
The last dexterity melee weapon in the game is Betty. You can only acquire it from Skinner in the bandit camp in Jharkendar(by that I mean killing him and taking it).It is the strongest 1-handed dexterity weapon. It deals 130 damage, but requires 110 dexterity to use it and it gives no weapon skill bonus.
I think those are all the dexterity melee weapons in Gothic 2 NotR.

It was kind of demanding especially Bullco, if you don't have much strength it takes a lot of time and deaths. So, i decided just light their ass up :steamhappy:

Yeah, Sentenza are particularly tough to kill, so using a few fireballs and fire arrows to soften them up is good approach (after you've challenged them to the duel and ice blocked them).
