G3 Quest Pack and Content Mod question.
Hello. Is there a possibility to install Content Mod 2.6 without quest pack ? I don't speak German, and the English translation for the quest pack feels like it is done by a 12 year old kid who barely understands English at all. Yet I really like Content Mod and apparently I cannot play it without installing quest pack 4.2...

Sure, just download CM_2.6.3_WITH_CON_2.02_INT[www.worldofgothic.de] and select CM2.6 without QP

Hey. Thank you for your reply. I thought nobody plays this game anymore. I tried this. Yet, then again, should I install Quest Pack and choose this option ? Or just install using this option without quest pack. I tried installing it without it, however it did not work very well. Glitched textures, warning messages during install etc

At requirements, they specified that is necessary to install first the original game, then the Community-Patch v1.75[www.worldofgothic.de], then Quest Package v4.2 + Compatibility Update for CP v1.75 [www.worldofgothic.de] (optional I suppose) and then Content Mod 2.6.3[www.worldofgothic.de] maybe you didn't intall them in the correct order or you miss one of them or you need to install the QP and then the CM and select without QP.

I'm not sure, I installed them in that order with QP included and the game worked fine but I uninstalled them later because I hated that the quest pack didn't have any audio and the old armors from previous gothic even that were nostalgic, they didn't fit well esthetically for me in gothic 3 so I can't tell you if there's any bug

Hmm. Maybe you could tell me more about these mods in general ? From your personal experience. I played first two titles 3-4 times during the years, same with G3. What I wanted is to try something new. I beared with the fact that there is no audio, and then the subtitles translation kicked in. It was horrible, grammar/spelling/synthax mistakes in almost every dialogue. What about all those armors? Is it really worth installing it anyway ? I could just install Community Patch 1.75 and be done with it. I really like the hero's old (blonde) face though.

First sorry if my answer has some typo or grammar mistake but english isn't my native language, I'm doing my best.

Well, the community patch basically fixes many bugs, improve the performance of the game, and make it harder, I totally recommend it.

The content mod add many weapons, items and armors from the previous titles giving more customization options for the hero and unique items, it also change the appearance of the world and some characters, for example orcs and main characters like Gorn, Lester, Milten, Diego, and the nameless hero, to make them look like in the previous titles, some monsters' appearance changes are optional.

Personally I think some textures are too light and contrast too much with the original ones and the new dark textures applied to the world with this mod, even the new armors (I mean the old armors from previous titles included with this mod) don't fit with the vanilla ones.

And the quest pack, It's was very annoying and immersion break to read the texts without any audio and as you said it has many grammar/spelling/syntax mistakes.

I played the gothic saga, even Arcania.... gothic was my first pc game and I remember it fondly so if I install a mod, that mod must be worthy, I don't want to spoil the experience, break the immersion, etc that's why I discarded these mods, although each person should make their own choice.

Thank you. I think I will just install community patch and get over it :)

Ive to agree with Dwolf.
They are truley great mods (hat of to the creators) but they shouldnt be used in a normal playthrough what I can tell.

If I do this, will the CM installation remove the quests from Quest Pack 4.2?

I really want the visual changes and the extra items, but I don't want to run into any randomly german quests in the game.

You can disable the quests during the installation.
