Only paladins and Fire mages that had fire chalises are broken, simple as that.
that is not correct, all runes lost thair power, not just the fire ones, the only exception are the teleporting runes but i guess thats more for gameplay reasons since the horses did not make it into the game at the end.
in addition since the ship only needed 2 weeks from Khorinis to Myrtana Xardas destroyed the rune magic basically 2 weeks before the hero arrives there and that was enough time to inform everyone else who didnt watch the show on television ^^
Also in that 2 weeks the water mages just teleported from Khorinis to Myrtana without any rune magic left. Thorus on the other hand had to swim and then used the rest of the 2 weeks to prove himself to the orcs and rise up the ranks so he did what he likes to do: guard some useless entrance.
Arriving on ship is what is shown in the video at the start of Gothic 3. Milten, Diego, Thorus, Gorn and the nameless hero, at least.
Furthermore, orc invasion of Myrtana had started much earlier - during the time of events of Gothic II.
Im sorry to dissapoint you, but even with its flaws..Gothic 1 and 2 are Milestones when it comes to RPG. Im from Germany myself, so i can say that at least when it comes to RPG titles overall, it just stands out. The voiceacting and all of the NPC's behavior (the Nameless hero being the pinacle of it all) gives an unique atmosphere and creates a World were one can reside decades in. Even years later, many people who arent even in Love with the series as other people(me probably included) come back to the Game and start over new. Gothic 1 not being a favored Game to replay, at least when it comes to your consideration, isnt that much of a problem, that is what makes it far better than many other Games. Its just THAT good, while having all the flaws. Given the time and the small team what is beyond such Legendary tiltes as these, they still stand among the best RPG's of all time. I wont tell you to look it up, it doesnt needs to be proven or somewhat shown. People who love the Genre will at least understand what makes these tiltes so unique and give them their Rank well deserved within this Industry of Gaming. ( sorry for the bad english tho)
P.s: there are some people who function as an excpection when it comes to those who claim to understand the Genre, i mean the Troll you've been discussing with. Better dont take them as and example
Unfortunately, I can't get accustomed to the ancient, chunky 3D graphics anymore, and mods don't fix that. For that reason I couldn't find into The Chronicles of Myrtana either.
With regard to the voice-acting, Gothic 3 features some of the best I've heard. My absolute favorite being the voice actor, who has done Renwik and Rakus and some more NPCs. Skip to 34:00 minutes mark, and enjoy the longer conversation:

Im pretty sure it is called rune magic because it comes from the rune. So it would make sense that destroying the run
How far where you into the game when you asked this o.o, I assume it was somewhat early since a few people talk about how during the battle of that one castle xardas destroyed their rune power. But yeah jumping into gothic 3 when never playing prior ones it wont make sense, as all the gothic games happen right after eachother. A lot of interactions with a lot of the old cast I noticed if I never played the prior games youd be lost. And for gothic 3 there is no reason for your character to forget people since he didnt lose his memory like he did with the 2nd, so ever character you meat from prior games, you always can ask "have we met?" or something like that. Except I think for the first few main/side characters when you start the game attacking the town, you some how can remember them but not people you literally interacted with all of the story of gothic 2.
Game is broken with out, outside patches. Most PB games are like this, which honestly is a scam. How they still sell all their games that wont work with out out side help. THey only recently fixed G1 and 2, to be able to launch with out patches. Risen 1 doesnt work with out, outside help either. Gothic 3 does start but its stupid buggy to the point of it not working.
Like if a company sells a disc version of the game, legally the game has to work from start to finish on that disc. Otherwise you cant sell it in disc form, so it makes zero sense why online products are not treated the same with out being in EA. People defend this for some reason, but by definition it would be a scam. As you think by selling in on something like steam, that itll at least launch and work start from finish. But half of their games you literally couldnt launch on steam for years with out, outside help. I love PB games, but I dont like how theyll still let you buy games that wouldnt launch on most modern PC's. Being old is no excuse if youre selling it and taking money. I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about this on the game JADE EMPIRE as literally anyone on a windows 10 pc could not launch it. And fall out 3 on steam is the same way. It is impossible for anyone to play fall out 3 with out an out side patch.
