Can't confirm that.

Is that with version 1.6 or version 1.75.14?

Perhaps visit the desert of Varant or the ice cold lands of Nordmar early. :steamhappy:

I haven't noticed it raining too much. I'm coming off recent replays of Gothic 2 and a 1st play thru of the Chronicles of Myrtana, and it rains more often in those games. I have the DX11 mod for both though, where rain displays as torrential downpours with rain streaming down walls. So maybe it's more noticeable. And for sure, adventure to the sun baked sands of Varant or the frosty snow and ice of Nordmar - might find yourself longing for some temperate rain. ;)

"It rains way too much in this game". Seriously? I hope you manage to deal with this disaster and I wish you and your family all the best in these trying times that NOone should ever have to go through.

Cannot confirm that.

Well of course this was probably meant subjective. For me its raining too much, too. Because I hate even 1 day of raining in the game. I love the rain Gothic 2 btw.

Its not the rain but the terrible annoying rain sound in Gothic 3. That is because it doesnt sound like rain but just like my TV is broken.

After it starts I immediately go to the next bed and sleep for 2 days. But sadly a few more days and it starts again.

I wouldnt mind so much if there is a bed nearby but when Im in the wilderness and I have stop what Im currently doing then it really gets to me.
Maybe it is due to lack of entropy, which can depend on the hardware.

I played many TCs for Gothic 2 including Archolos. But I mostly played them without DX11 mod. I did use DX11 mod for a little bit and I do not think it affected rain. It does not feel like it rains as much in any other Gothic game.
I'll take your word on it. As I said, it's possible I was just given that impression by the latest DX11 mod, which has rain coming down by the buckets. I live on the wet/west coast of NA's Pacific NW, and the way rain runs down walls in Khorinis or Acrholos reminds me of streets in my city during a heavy downpour. It's over done IMO, but at least you have no doubt what the weather conditions are. :)

The problem in Gothic 3 is that rain is annoying af. What's worse is that sometimes when I go to sleep to skip it, I have it several days in a row like 3 for example. The record is 4 days however. In most other Gothic games rain seems to go away when you sleep and does not last more than 1 day.

But yeah the major thing about G3 rain is just how annoying it is.

Not to place too many IRL traits on a fantasy world, as it's obvious from a glance at a Gothic 3 map that that there's a good amount of abstractionm with geography being very compressed to make a workable/playable terrain. That said...from a geographical and meteorological perspective, it does make some sense. Both Khorinis and Archolos are smaller islands where more dynamic weather patterns are more likely to ensure rain doesn't stay around for a long period.

Whereas Myrtana looks to be part of a continent. By the build up of ice in the more northerly and colder Nordmar region, it appears the world builders were suggesting weather mostly blows in from the northeast. The much colder Nordmar traps much of it as snow and ice. But with Varant being a desert, the game builders are suggesting that wet weather stalls over Myrtana, with its southern mountains soaking up what's remaining and creating a severe rain shadow for Varant. It makes sense then that when it does rain over Myrtana, that it's going to get soaked for longer in comparison to Archolos and Khorinis.

That of course does make for a more annoying Myrtana, for any player that isn't enthused about the game's rain effects.
