Can't select graphics card
The game auto uses my intel 4000 graphics card but I want to use my nvidia 620m. So far I tried:

- right click helldivers.exe and select 'run with nvidia'
- in the nvidia control panel choose the 620m to be used with helldivers.exe
- set nvidia to preferred graphics card for any app

It doesn't work! Also in the game I can't select graphics cards. What can I do? Using windows 10.

First of all you need to change that setting on your own in Nvidia geforce experience settings, not in the game.
Now to the next problem, rightclicking the .exe and chhosing card SHOULD work but for you it does not wich leads me to my next point.
Windows 10 is at the moment known for being very finnicky with laptops that has integrated gpu's.
It simply does not allways work the way it should because Microsoft effed up some stuff in windows 10 concerning laptop gpu's.
Does it let you choose card for your other games correctly?

Go to nvidia setting and choose as main graphics adapter - high performance nvidia. Don't choose nvidia just for game.

buy the game, installed it and play

I have a similar set-up with a graphics card and high performance GPU, and this was my go-to solution.

Just to make you feel better, I am having the same problem except I have an NVIDIA 525m. I have updated to the latest driver, uninstalled and reinstalled the game, uninstalled and reinstalled the geforce experience.

When I go into the Nvidia control panel I can't even find the game and have to "add" it. When I add the .exe (there seems to be two btw, can't figure out which one to use), I then choose high performance NVIDIA and it seems to "forget" that i saved this setting when I then try to load the game. Even when I do it as a general setting instead of game specific it will STILL try and load it on my native card.... I'm using windows 7 btw.

Really frustrated here.

Found a fix!! Go into the graphics settings after you load the game. Turn everything to lowest setting or off. Turn the vsync off. Turn the fxaa thing off. Etc etc. Then exit the game and go to the nvidia control panel and select the game and choose the nvidia card. Then for good measure under the global settings force every game to run nvidia as well. When I loaded up the game after doing all of these things it finally selected the nvidia card and runs way better.

Chances are it was likely a bug in one of the in game graphics settings that was preventing me from selecting my nvidia card. I'm not sure which one though. Having got it working I don't want to mess around with it anymore but I suppose if you wanted you could turn your graphics settings back up to full/on one at a time and see if one of them makes the game swap back to the native Intel card.
This issue reminds me of some problems that I had running Heroes of the Storm from Blizzard in my laptop. Altough I configured the game exe to be running using my geforce card and the default settings, the performance was ultra-low and there were a lot of black screens issues. In the end it was related to the Anti-Aliasing filtering. I had to tell my gforce experience to ignore the AA settings and let the game manage the AA filtering.

I haven't tried Helldivers in my laptop yet. Hopefully it will be running fine after reading your fixing! :D

It still says intel 4000
This is so frustrating.... Why can't I force the game to use my Nvidia card? It's retarded.
And apparently according to Steam - r_etarded is a curse word. :D

Try to force every application, not just game. Select main graphics adapter as nvidia, not just nvidia for specific application.

I already tried that :(
Yep! Me too! Already done that. Done both actually! And also tried to launch the game from the .exe with Right click and run with nvidia....
