Is this game worth getting for multiplayer?

I've played online via PS4 around the time it first came out. So much fun. The game being on sale Im looking to bite for the price however, Im a little worried about the population for this game. Is it healthy? Can you find games decently? Especially not during sale times.

I just got it and I had been wondering the same thing (on PC).

I've been able to find multiple games every time I look. The community is small but seems to be active. Also, the sale has brought in a lot of new players so lots of low level games.

The current war is almost won, so people are definitely playing and I've been having a blast.

It was definitely worth the $8 to me.

Honestly, even solo, the game is still a fun time to play, especially for under $10 if it includes all the DLC.
And the game has drop in/out available so you can always just start a game solo and have someone jump in at any point. Especially if you deploy out the SOS beacon.
The only draw back to playing solo is that it can get a little boring after a while and the boss fights & retaliation missions are practically impossible.
