BUG REPORTS
Hello everyone!

Hopefully you all are having a great time playing Helldivers, but if you do come across any issues could you please follow these steps below.

I will keep this thread as updated as possible, so check here before posting. We also read every comment (even if we can't answer each one individually), so there is no need to create multiple seperate threads in the forums :)

CHECK THIS LINK FOR A LIST OF SOLUTIONS FOR COMMON PROBLEMS

How to Report

To help solve your problem we need to have this information. Use https://pastebin.com/ if there is a lot of text which you need to link to or paste, rather than multiple posts.

Crash Logs
Crash logs will be located in this path: %appdata%\Arrowhead\Helldivers\crash

Dxdiag
To get a dxdiag follow these steps:
  • Press the Windows key and type dxdiag in the search box
  • Click on dxdiag.exe
  • When DxDiag opens, check to see if there’s a button that says Run 64-bit DxDiag. If there is click it
  • If that button doesn’t appear, you’re on a 32-bit system.
  • You’ll see a green progress bar in the bottom-left of the DirectX Diagnostic Tool window while the program is gathering information. When the progress bar disappears, it means your report is ready.
  • Click Save All Information.
  • Save the file to your desktop (make sure it’s saving as a text file) and give it a name you’ll remember.
  • Click Exit.
  • Paste/send us this file!

Be as detailed as possible
  • Computer Specs? Gamepad?
  • Nat Type? Port settings? Firewall?
  • Are you playing online, offline?
  • Multiplayer? Local coop? Singleplayer?
  • Are you using a gamepad or keyboard and mouse?
  • Any other relevant information?

Record videos, images and reproduction steps
These are really useful to identify a problem which is hard to describe.

Before Reporting
  • Make sure you are running the latest Helldivers update
  • Update the Steam Client
  • Update ALL your drivers
  • Check your firewall and ports

Your firewall may be blocking Helldivers from connecting to the Campaign Backend. Make sure that any firewall in use is allowing Helldivers to perform outbound connections on port 443.

You might also have to make sure that the firewall is not rejecting self-signed SSL certificates, as this is what the Campaign Backend uses.

You can test it by going to https://api.helldiversgame.com/1.0/ from your computer. You should be given a warning that your connection is not private, secure, or similar. If you simply can't reach the site, either your router or ISP is blocking the traffic, probably due to the use of self signed certificates.

Torun 30. bře. 2017 v 12.28
4 GB RAM is indeed on the very borderline of playable. Try turning off every program that isn't necessary to actually play the game, and play. If that doesn't work, you're in need of upgrade.
Had a weird bug that I never saw before by joining a random lobby. The respawn timer would constantly reset after reaching 0 (2 other teammates were respawning while I was joining I noticed, that may be the cause) and you'd always hear the sound notification of you respawning as well. I couldn't call in any stratagems, see the map or see my current ammo. I still was able to switch weapons tho. The bug fixed itself after I died and got respawned by a teammate.

How does the game run when it's actually working? Your PC may just simply not be powerful enough to handle the game.

Deaths and Ditch, not exactly a bug but a minor flaw to Helldivers non-griefing system, People can always join a match, kill everyone (including themself) and exits the game while its still on the report screen where there's no way to report them and leave before they spawn in the lobby.

An easy fix would be letting the player name linger on the menu for a minute making report/commending easier. Ty
I do not think this happens very often. If it does, you can open up the Steam overlay, click View Players, then Recent Games, and find the player's profile that way, then report them on Steam and potentially start a thread here about it in case people doing this start popping up more often.

It's still good to know this is possible, as it will allow an earlier fix in case it does start happening more.

When I launch the game it just shows a black screen with the in-game cursor, can't see anything else. It played just fine a couple days ago. Happens in 32-bit safe mode as well. I already uninstalled and reinstalled through Steam.

As people have suggested it could be the RAM. I'd suggest running Windows Memory Diagnostics (https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff700221.aspx). It can take a while so consider letting it run overnight.

What model and make is the graphics card? If possible, consider installing a different graphics card and see if this changes anything.
Having an issue where, after a mission, a player will disconnect from the victory screen.

It seems to only happen when there are more than two players, only happens to one player at a time, and if the dropped player re-joins they will continue to be dropped from the game after every mission.

They seem to keep all their XP and rewards, however.

This happened to me a few minutes ago. Was doing a level 12 Hell-dive for the Bug Ecologist cape, beat all three, got to the post-evac screen and nothing showed up for a few minutes, then I was sent back to my ship with the 'you have recieved your xp, samples and rewards', but I didn't get the Bug Ecologist cape. Got my samples and xp though, for some reason.

Not really mad about it, more disappointed. Took me a good hour to complete those missions for squat all.
Aaaand I finished the Illuminate cape mission as well. Same thing happened.

Good evening! Had a bit of an odd respawn today doing a level 4 or 5 cyborg retaliation mission online with 3 other players (4 players including myself). I was the last remaining guy and had the reinforce beacon and I died by the wall of the map, dropping the beacon. The beacon rolled through the wall and we respawned outside the map. All players experienced this.

Only fix was to restart the mission. Thank you!
I'm playing with a Dual Shock 4.

Whenever I press X in the lobby, this text chat pops up. How do I get it to stop doing that? I don't see a text chat setting in button mapping.
That's a new one. Using any third party software for the DS or just plug and play?
