Hello everyone!

Hopefully you all are having a great time playing Helldivers, but if you do come across any issues could you please follow these steps below.

I will keep this thread as updated as possible, so check here before posting. We also read every comment (even if we can't answer each one individually), so there is no need to create multiple seperate threads in the forums :)

How to Report

To help solve your problem we need to have this information. Use https://pastebin.com/ if there is a lot of text which you need to link to or paste, rather than multiple posts.

Crash Logs
Crash logs will be located in this path: %appdata%\Arrowhead\Helldivers\crash

Dxdiag
To get a dxdiag follow these steps:

• Press the Windows key and type dxdiag in the search box
  
• Click on dxdiag.exe
  
• When DxDiag opens, check to see if there’s a button that says Run 64-bit DxDiag. If there is click it
  
• If that button doesn’t appear, you’re on a 32-bit system.
  
• You’ll see a green progress bar in the bottom-left of the DirectX Diagnostic Tool window while the program is gathering information. When the progress bar disappears, it means your report is ready.
  
• Click Save All Information.
  
• Save the file to your desktop (make sure it’s saving as a text file) and give it a name you’ll remember.
  
• Click Exit.
  
• Paste/send us this file!

Be as detailed as possible

• Computer Specs? Gamepad?
  
• Nat Type? Port settings? Firewall?
  
• Are you playing online, offline?
  
• Multiplayer? Local coop? Singleplayer?
  
• Are you using a gamepad or keyboard and mouse?
  
• Any other relevant information?

Record videos, images and reproduction steps
These are really useful to identify a problem which is hard to describe.

Before Reporting

• Make sure you are running the latest Helldivers update
  
• Update the Steam Client
  
• Update ALL your drivers
  
• Check your firewall and ports
  
  Your firewall may be blocking Helldivers from connecting to the Campaign Backend. Make sure that any firewall in use is allowing Helldivers to perform outbound connections on port 443.
  
  You might also have to make sure that the firewall is not rejecting self-signed SSL certificates, as this is what the Campaign Backend uses.
  
  You can test it by going to https://api.helldiversgame.com/1.0/ from your computer. You should be given a warning that your connection is not private, secure, or similar. If you simply can't reach the site, either your router or ISP is blocking the traffic, probably due to the use of self signed certificates.

I personally just use my DS4v1 through InputMapper, which emulates it into XInput, because the touchpad doesn't seem to do anything natively while in InputMapper I can set it to do things (seldom mouseover is handy). I also have a screen dim set and I haven't had this kind of fuss yet.

Hi, I just started playing HellDivers and am having a weird issue.
Whether I play on my own or in multiplayer I get two versions of myself ie Low G Man #0 and Low G Man #1. It seems that in single player mode I can drop that player but in multiplayer, the second version of me just shows up. However, I can only control one of them of course.

Also I don't know if its related but after I respawn, my gamepad no longer works and I cannot control my character. I wondering if it just defaults to the other version of my character.

Do you play on gamepad? If so, it's important that you use it as soon as the main menu loads (with the Play button and such), use its X/A button to move on and such things.

Just bought this game and right out of the gate, it's not playable. I am using an Xbox 360 Wired controller. It shows up in Windows fine. It works in other games fine (tested it in Redoubt and Deus Ex MD). All the buttons work. Left thumbstick is mapped to chat shortcuts, right thumbstick does nothing. Going into settings and Gamepad, the game doesn't show any gamepads at all. What on Super Earth is going on?

I would mention the left thumbstick goes through the menus like normal.

Navigate all the interface with the gamepad only. When you enter the game, take a look at the keybinds options and see if anything can be done. There might also be a "remap controller" option which lets you tell the game which control element is which.

I get this for every game I try to join for online play. I have my firewall off and My wifi is working fine, considering the fact I can play all my other games online without any problems. My online used to work fine before recent updates(the one before the most recent one is when I first started having these troubles) and a day ago it used to be I just can't play in anything below Meduim difficulty, now, I cant join any game.

Nope. Nothing. All the keybinds are mapped to controller buttons and work as intended. It's the thumbsticks that are completely buggered. I refunded the game. If someone finds a useable fix while it's still on sale, I'll buy it, if not, nope.

Have you tried using Veteran Controller mode in the settings?

Edit: Can I aslo just check to see if you have simply restarted your PC after experiencing this?

El juego pasa cerrandose cada que quiero iniciar una mision, hay algo que pueda hacer para solucionar eso?
En casi todas las misiones durante la carga se traba el juego luego me aparece un anuncion de windows diciendo que hellsdriver.exe dejo de funcionar, el juego es genial pero es muy molesto jugarlo si se la pasa cerrandose todo el tiempo.

Hello, the game developer. After the latest update I had a problem with Helldivers. After this update, when I‘m playing online multiplayer mode the game crashed and the screen turned blue, but this situstion hadn't appeared playing with older version. The game was generally loading or game interface when it crashed, besides there was no warning or tips. Because the blue screen is too sudden so there's no replay on the computer or pictures for reference. The following is my DXdiag, I save it in Google Drive to view esaliy.
