Let's say for the fug of it that it does have the auto-reload like all other games that have pump-action shotguns. In theory. It's damage is good but it cannot kill cyborg or bug patrols without you getting spotted because the pump mechanism just isn't fast enough. Still an interesting gun, good range and damage and I want to like it. I would like it if that damn reload wouldn't wear out my R button just playing a single map with the thing.
However would be nice if the character wouldnt scream RELOADING after every second shell.
plenty of weapons shoot past screen and are much better for patrols.
The tradeoff is the thing is stupidly powerful for a shotgun, massive single target power but given how many enemies you usally fight it's a pretty bad gun overall. I'd only even consider it on a boss fight and theres plenty more options to consider in that case.
Actually it could make an excellent backup weapon if you bring in a heavy weapon stratagem now that I think about it. But that's kinda reaching.
but it take too much time to reload a whole magazine.
or keep pressing the button and the character would keep reloading this weap.which solved the problem while remaining the advantage to let u stop and fire at any point.
Also, yelling "Reloading!" all the time...
ok but think of this, if you are holding R doesnt that just make it harder to keep moving since a finger is now stuck to the key instead of hitting it inbetween other actions?
As for the Punisher itself, I do like it for Illuminate missions as it 1-hits Hunters and Observers. But I always take a support weapon suitable for heated situations. If it had a semi-automatic fire upgrade it would be much more viable. But as it is now the Breaker is a much more suitable shotgun for general use.
On the other hand, it is the best primary for soloing Illuminate helldives. I've done this literally dozens of times with different weapons, but it can 1-shot the scouts from any range and has plenty of ammo. Any other weapon has the possiblity for bad luck with bullet spread or at least ammo troubles.
It's true that other guns can deal with the heavier stuff better, but I never have to deal with the heavier stuff when I bring that shotgun. mmm mmm. It's not so annoying to reload when you only have to reload one shell per enemy.
It has its niche.
