seriously ?
ok then, the answer is yes, you can unlock them with a credit card or paypal.
Let me give you a straight answer. You have to buy all of the DLC items, they can not be unlocked through gameplay. (Unless you play with me a lot on cyborg homeworld maps without all-terrain boots, I've already gifted the boot dlc to three seperate people just so we could do them smoother. :P)
The good news is that only two of the DLC's are considered "mandatory". The Ranger dlc, and the all-terrain specialist dlc. (For the UAV and All-terrain-boots respectively.) The rest varry from "very useful" (support dlc) to "absolutely useless" (pistol dlc)
Can you name the Non MMO \ F2P games which you can unlock items without buying the dlc? Since you know so many.
I own all the DLCs and the only item I'm using at a regular basis is the boots. The rest of my loadout is "vanilla".
The pistols themselves are not bad, the part them makes them useless is the fact that they use your perk slot instead of a new pistol slot or something. There are """MUCH""" better perks than the pistol ones.
12 guns in the game and another 9 with DLC. Just buy it and have fun. The game is well worth it.
