you run out of ammo on one weapon, then it will prompt you to resupply

Well currently i have noticed i have been running level 7 bug missions and have been struggling with upgrades, do you have anything on getting samples quickly?
sweng Aug 4, 2024 @ 9:24pm
Upgrade your drone and bring it to mission to collect everything, want more sample then go higher difficulty the player at higher difficulty are better skilled in survive the mission and can help when you say you want sample but dont go 13 and above, too difficult
Just to clarify a thing, this is Helldiver 1 forum not Helldiver 2, different game.

Don't bother with stupid stuff like the tank or the speeder.

Best early weapon is probably the Breaker.

I wouldn't bother with the resupply pack or the drone. Both are wastes of slots IMO.

If you're playing solo, you can often find 50% of all samples by going around the perimeter of the entire map once. There's a good chance you can find a lot of the rest just by completing the objectives and in normal gameplay.

The higher the mission level, the higher the number of samples present on a map (usually).

Speed is useful for escaping enemies... use the cardio perk on desert, volcanic or city planets for extra speed, or the all terrain boots perk on snow or forest planets, to ensure you can run around quickly. (Most people don't know that the all terrain boots allow you to traverse through swamps at full speed).

Cyborg dogs are essentially neutralized by the SH-20 Shield Generator stratagem. When equipped with it (and with it active), the dogs no longer charge at you. It also gives you a second chance against Illuminate Hunters.

Hellbombs are useful diversions against the low level bugs. The low level bugs will flock to it, but are too weak to destroy it quickly. Therefore, it's best to save "destroy the nest" missions for the very end of a round where they are present. That is because after all nests are destroyed, you can no longer call down hellbombs.

Don't be afraid to equip yourself with multiples of the same stratagem at times. LIke multiple turrets or mines, etc. That allows you to deploy multiples of an item at once.

Be careful not to shoot or rain death down on your teammates. It's not always possible, and in this game, mistakes happen a lot. Chaos is a big part of this game.

Just have fun with it!

Here's some advice: you don't absolutely need to avoid taking the humblebee drone. You can take up a slot for sample hunting, and you won't be missing too much. Especially in multiplayer.

More importantly though, remember to have fun playing. Don't feel like you have to take the most optimized loadout for every mission, every weapon can be viable to some degree, and it's important to have fun playing the game. Just don't be toxic, and remember to use the text chat feature to communicate.

This might seem like very generic advice, but you may find that it goes a long way for any game or even 'IRL' performance: be mindful. Becoming more experienced and skilled will help you direct your awareness more effectively, but doesn't mean much if there is no awareness to begin with. This is the one and only reason you might see a master (of any game, but you can consider HD1) make the same mistake that a new player typically would—because they had a lapse in attention.

I forget the most important tips. Remember to upgrade your reinforcement strategem. Also you can call reinforcement in mech and even when down, no need to get up first. Train to call reinforcement fast will let you and your teammate survive the mission
