What stratagems should I bring to take on the Hive Lord? (Jet packs are mandatory here, anything else?)

Depends.
You can run Ammo + 2x Demolishers. They deal a ton of damage and you don't need to worry about someone picking it up.
2x Ammo + Rumbler works too, but then you have to worry about reloads.

Sometimes I run Ammo + Rumbler + Demolisher + Jet pack. Stratagems I like Revolver/Strat Priority or Boots in snow. I've finished it off with Revolver or Marksman rifle a fair amount of times.
The only thing you don't want is mines, as it moves fast enough that it will almost never do damage. Barbed Wire, stasis, and fire can have a place, but only useful for slowing down the mobs. But if you're clearing and using jet pack, it's more likely to be a hindrance.

Guess I'll have to upgrade my demolishers. Thanks for the suggestion! Will try it out.

What if you don't have any DLC? Any suggestions?

I faced him twice with a few different set-ups and didn't come up with any very good ideas. The stratagem that is a laser seems to be the least worst weapon against him. Other than that, I'm completely out of strategy.

RPGs don't even make a dent.

Buy the DLC's on sale next time, trust me they're super worth.

You can technically hurt it with any AT or Explosive weapons.
My suggestion would be: 2xAmmo + Obliterator + jet packs can work. It's mobile and will deal damage, but the damage will be low.
Ammo + Recoiless Rifle + 2x Thunderers could deal decent damage, but then you wouldn't have precious mobility, and solo reloads is a pain.
Tip though, it seems the Hive Lord is more likely to aggro you from underground the more damage you recently or if you're in an idle state such as reloading or doing stratagems. Timing reloads is a key skill however, and the best time to reload is while it's Spewing the 3 PUDDLES OF ACID or THE LARGE CIRCULAR GOO. Those animations are long enough that you can get in 1 Shot with a recoiless rifle and a reload, assuming it's clear of course.

Thank you very much. Next time I will definitely try these tips.

Last time, I was sure the entire team didn't know what to do. The fight was a 30 min grind. Chipping the thing very, very slowly.

I think I was the one who died the least and it was about 25~30 times.

The people got good at making reinforcements at least. Haha.
