If you have another input device connected, you will get an option for a player clone to join in, including online matches, so I don't see why remote play wouldn't work.
Remote Play Together + online coop is feasible in HELLDIVERS.
However, Remote Play Together requires controllers. The game seems to only recognize one keyboard, but it can recognize multiple controllers. In other words, at most one "local" player can use the keyboard, and all other "local" players will need controllers when using Remote Play Together.
Online coop do not have this limitation.
