i can drive around in a tank or a apc, i CAN BRUN THE CURRENT PLANET with a full sized flamer
oh and the dlc just gives you the stuff, the all terian boots are bascily requierd for snow planets
Why do companies always make this mistake and just give you the weapons and upgrades? They just makes people quit faster.
first i bought the game without dlc and then ive seen im in a disadvantage, so i bought the dlc pack aswell, a lot of usefull stuff in there, so its kinda p2w but since there is no pvp and its only paying once, it seems totally OK for me.
but for me the game is all about tactics, on lvl 10 you can be the same as on lvl 50, ofc you need to choose the right equipment to lvl it, but if you did, you can do the hardest missions even on lvl 10 and even solo it, im pretty successful in it...
hf!
All stratagems (or 'abilities') and weapons can be upgraded 2 (for stratagems) or 2-4 (for weapons) times with research points that you get from leveling up and gathering samples (semihidden objects in the missions). So not too much of an RPG element.
DLC stuff is just plain handed to you straight after you buy it, making them really useful in the early game. And some of the DLC stuff is absolutely neccessary for the higher difficulties.
For example:
- All-terrain boots for snow planets since without them you walk half as slow in snow, meaning you cant outrun enemies.
- UAV is also DLC only, and fully upgraded it shows you all samples on your minimap making it crucial if you want more research points.
- Possibly the most useful/OP primary weapon in the game is DLC only called the Sickle, which is a laser rifle that has long range, mediocre damage, high rate of fire and literally never runs out of ammo when tapfiring.
There's probably other's but those are the most glaring ones that come to mind.
I beg to differ its a twin stick rpg co op game, if diablo can be called an arpg then stuff like this can be called twin stick shooter rpgs just saying.
Ok but you can say the same thing about other games cant you? For example lord of the rings war in the north has some upgradable weapons and you can upgrade to get some new abilities but its still considered an action rpg.
Helldivers lacks character development--all divers have identical capacities. They even all get the same equipment, and there are no limits on upgrading, so it all ends up equally good. So there aren't builds, just choices made when a given mission is starting.
