FLAM-40 'Incinerator' VS TOX-13 'Avenger'
I'm somewhat new to Helldivers and was wondering which of these are better and against which races?

Both of them are usefull only vs bugs, and the tox is better overall cause of the poison that kills even the bug tanks.

Both CAN be useful against all alien races depending on player-proficiency. Unarguably, the TOX-13 Avenger absolutely shines against bugs because of it's ability to slow and kill even the heaviest of tanks (due to all bug units being organic creatures).

But I've also had good results using both against all 3 races. My suggestion would be to focus on the Avenger first, if only for it's utility against Bugs, but don't disregard the Incinerator entirely. It might lack the powerfull debuff and DOT of it's toxic DLC-counterpart, but it is fun; also, accidentaly burning your teammates isn't as lethal as spraying them with even a few drops of green goo.

Both of them are useful, but I found that the Tox-13 is not that very effective againts illuminate. But I think difference between these two weapon are

Tox-13:
+More damage overtime than incinerator
- Less direct damage than incinerator

Incinerator:
+More direct damage then Tox-13
- Less damage overtime than Tox-13

Although i'm glad they're in there, I never seemed to do very well using either one. I was in a few teams over the months where a squadmate was effective with Tox-13.

I've mentioned Killing Floor 2 as my other favorite co-op game on Steam. The Firebug's flamethrower is effective on a lot of enemies, but to me Damage Over Time weapons are always a bit tricky in action games.

The tougher enemies in there tend to be resistant to flames, and so require a lot of patience to take out. I guess I didn't find Helldivers' incinerator too useful against more heavily armored enemies, so I tended to have a hard time reasoning bringing it along.

Sorry guys but seriously who would waste a stratagem slot for the incinerator in any level 6+ planets, and who brings the avenger for anything exept bugs.
These 2 together with the mg-94, the dum-dum and the las-98 are the worst weapon of the game (exept the avenger only agains bugs) so it's a wasted stratagem and heavy weapon slot, why even bringing these with all the other usefull statagems?
Oh and by the way this is a real question not an angry rant so please answer cause i've never seen anyone (at least levels 15 and above) using these weapon, and i've tried them and the only good one is the avenger and only agains bug for retaliatory strike.

Huh? The TOX-13 'Avenger' is worthless vs Illuminates (even if you take their shield off first), but aside that the FLAM-40 'Incinerator' and TOX-13 'Avenger' are both very effective crowd control Support Weapons.

The TOX-13 'Avenger' is best vs Bugs as it owns them, while the FLAM-40 'Incinerator' is best vs Illuminates.

As crowd control Support Weapons, both are safe to use defending in-organic Defend objectives (Convoy, Rocket, Drill), while only the FLAM-40 'Incinerator' is safe to use around organic Defend objectives (Escort Survivors). Both are also safe to use around Vehicles / Mechs.

As crowd control Support Weapons, the TOX-13 'Avenger' is lethal against Helldivers, while the FLAM-40 'Incinerator' is very forgiving.

I'd just keep in mind that even if essentially EVERY weapon in the game CAN be useful doesn't mean that every player has fun using ir or wants to use it.

I'm always happy I got Digital Deluxe cause Helldivers is an awesome game I want to support.

But the fact is I don't really want to use large portions of the DLC stuff at all. Lot of the stuff I'm either clumsy with or I have to use tactics that just aren't comfortable to me. That's different than saying any of that stuff isn't effective. :steamhappy:

LAS-98 is a good primary if your actual primary is a support weapon like the railgun. The Dum-Dum is a stationary sniper and performs well against any non-tank unit, especially against the squids. Has a fairly short reload time too.

MG-94 on the other hand... well while not exactly bad it just cant compare to other weapons on harder difficulties. Could be remedied into a decent spare primary like the LAS-98 if the mag size where significantly bigger, load time shorter or if you could move while reloading.

Very true. The Distractor Beacon for instance is very effective, but I don't like to use it. Similarly I don't like to use the AT-47 and the laser shot weapons (Sickle / Trident) because I think they make the game boring.
