either.
The gamepad has more directional movement, you won't be restricted to the 4 directions that the keyboard offers. And some of the button placement is really neat for stuff like calling stratagems, dodging, melee attacks.
The keyboard and mouse combo offers more accuracy. Now depending on the weapon you use, you might prefer that. The movement becomes trickier unless you use extra mouse buttons for melee, stratagems, etc. The button combinations become trickier because of how most keyboards are build - pressing several buttons in the same zone wont register. For example i've had boards that wont register "z", "x" or "c" when i am holding down "d + w" to move in diagonal. But that's highly dependant on the keyboards. Now this is by no means game breaking, and you can still perform very well with keyboard and mouse when it comes to movement.
Now i personally enjoy the keyboard and mouse more, because i can use the chat, and i am quite chatty in game. Also i kinda have gotten used to it, ofc i have customised the keybinds to be able to do the melee dodge and stuff.
People already have pointed out that the game leans towards gamepads a lot, and it sounds about right. That being said, there is one very neat option that i advice you to use if you go down the keyboard and mouse route - it's the option to hide the cursor! Now if you choose the mouse to be always visible during missions, it will be this translucent black dot that will turn into reticle for aiming - the uncomfortable part with that is that while it is black it is kinda hard to keep track of on a lot of the maps, and it can really break the flow of your movement, because of the way aiming works. When you pres the button to aim the character always aims in the direction they are moving, and after that spins towards your mouse cursor, that can cause some issues. The way to fix that is by choosing the option for your mouse to not be always visible, in that way when you pres the aim button, the aim will always be in front of you and you can move it towards, where it needs to be with the mouse! Now i know it might sounds a bit awkward at first glance, but this option will bring you closer to the gamepad, and you can have the best of both worlds! The precision aiming of a mouse, and the intended aiming without hecking up your movement.
yes... i rly suckz! lol
Yes, hitting accurately with a controller requires more practise. But it feels good to do so.
I am playing in a team and I have had the impression that placing stratagams is actually more precise with controller - but I may be wrong.
Also, with analogs you can adjust your speed so you can walk slower... If you ever need it...
