replayability/endgame?
So Helldivers popped up on my storefront now with the sale going on, and what i'd want to know before possibly taking the plunge is what the replayability and/or endgame is like? Is there randomized content to just keep plowing through or is it more "You have X amount of standard static missions.. Oh, you've completed them all? Well.. Uh.. Do it again!.. On the next difficulty! Yes!"

Replayability can be summed up as

Emphasis on objectives. The environment is randomized per planet and there is also a "random mission mode" with several variables called "Proving Grounds".

Other than the standard set of objectives per mission (there is variety in that the mission will choose a random amount from this set pool of objectives), ranks and perks, there are three factions with their own unique skillset and enemies.

However, the three factions follow a "Galactic Campaign". If one gets wiped out by Super Earth (us), then that defeated faction remains unplayable (other than "Proving Grounds") for the remainder of the War. The War ends when either we kill everyone else or everyone else kills us.

There is no continuity of story. Each War is independent of the other storywise.

In conclusion, for replayability
  • 50 player levels.
  • Standard set of objectives over infinite missions split into 15 different difficulty levels.
  • Capes. Capes and Helmets and Armour.
  • A variety of weapons to upgrade and perks to unlock in base game alone.
  • No overarching story.
  • Three factions with about fifteen different enemy types each.
  • Limited to a "Galactic Campaign" playstyle where the available factions, length of War and overall Victory/Defeat is wholly dependent on the entire community playing the game during said War.

Ergo, if the Bugs get wiped out before you have a chance to play against them, then yer gonna have to wait until either the other two factions get killed or we get killed.

In real life, a War might last from a week to a month.

In my personal opinion, if you prefer throwing anything and everything including Nukes at your squadmates and the enemy while at the same time wanting to feel like a commando/elite soldier, then this game is for you!

there is no endgame... and there is no 50 mission garbage, nobody runs lvl 1 dives....10 or above is standard. some people play all the races some only like one or two which further cuts down on the levels available to you. theres a ton of base weapons and a ton more via dlcs.....you might use 10 of them? not counting various airstrikes. so wheres the fun?

noobs.... noobs are the ulti key to fun in this game.....lvl 10 noobs lvl 50 noobs all the same garbage...

some teams work great missions are smooth as silk...

some teams are a noob fest, a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ struggle to survive from one obj to the next. barely making it out of one swarm of enemies to be slammed by another....and that is where you get the replayability...that struggle.

ive replayed the same objs 10,000 times.... is it boring? no...why?

those damn noobs. its damn fun barely making it through a mission with chaos reining around me.
