Can't destroy Bug Nests on planet missions

Can't destroy Bug Nests on planet missions. Tried using armor piercing rounds, and bomb blast, flame thrower, but can't destroy bug nests???

To destry bug nests you need to use an anti-tank stratagem (recoiless rifle, eat-17) or the standard yellow stratagem NUX-223 Hellbomb, normal weapons or granades don't work.

My personal favorite for that task is the M-25 Rumbler mortar. Works great on the bug nests and the big bug tanks as well.

If you have the DLC, I like to use Demolisher satchels -- one per nest will do it if you're precise with your tosses.

If the nests are in a row, Airstrike can be effective in taking out at least a couple nests.

If you're in a squad, I recommend communicating a bit about nest-handling. I've been on teams where we basically wasted a lot of weapons/stratagems cause we all tried to destroy a bunch of nests at the same time using different methods. :)

Shredder Missile. Just drop one and watch the team run like hell. Of all the valid options mentioned above, I really like the Shredder. Gives that feeling of infiltrating enemy territory, doing some recon, calling in the strike and getting out of there unseen, like a true Champion of Super Earth!

The default way to destroy the bug nests is to deply a Hellbomb, its a yellow mission deployable and takes a moderate time to call down. Upgraded versions call it in quicker, When using the bomb make sure to deploy it in a generally central location to cover the nests. The bomb is also very vunerable make sure to defend it while it arms after you use it. after about 3 seconds it will detonate and kill the nests.

Do you not remember the tutorial where it has a specific objective that says "Here is a bug nest, call in a hellbomb to destroy it"?

Sometimes on harder difficulties the hellbomb just takes too long. The quicker you destroy the objective the better.
