After that, assuming you're a beginner,I would recommend the Ranger Pack and the Entrenched Pack.
The Ranger Pack includes the 'Humblebee' UAV drone[helldivers.gamepedia.com] which can help you find samples with its last upgrade, which is extremely useful when you're trying to upgrade stratagems.
The reason I recommend the Entrenched Pack is that it contains the AT-47 Anti-Tank Emplacement[helldivers.gamepedia.com] which is good for Retaliatory Strikes when you're a beginner. Just note that a lot of veteran players won't take too kindly to you bringing it to one of their games (it tends to take the fun out of the playing, if you know what you're doing), so I wouldn't recomend bringing it to high-level rooms unless you're hosting. That aside, if you're not someone who enjoys Retaliatoy Strikes (I've never known of a beginner that did) and are simply looking to get past them, it'll do the job.
...After that, I'd say just read the product writeup, research what's already out there and get whatever interests you. Me personally, I have all the DLC, and I'd reccomend buying the whole bundle, but maybe that's not something you're up for.
I find it useless as there are better perks to take than a different pistol. The default pistol is more than enough to get the job done.
I'm not saying that those weapons aren't fun, but they take up the perk slot which is best saved for more useful perks. If Arrowhead would have made seperate slots for pistols and grenades it would have made much more sense in my opinion, but as it is they didn't and I don't recommend that DLC pack unless you are just buying all of them.
You know, apart from some veterans using the Gunslinger there is another argument to be made for it. Starting out in this game, players don't have access to any of the good perks, so having the Gunslinger pistol as a new player is actually beneficial. Sure, at the very low difficulties there isn't that much use for it, but as soon as any of the stronger units start appearing the GS is the strongest weapon in a players arsenal at that point, and even later.
As far as increase in sheer power goes, I'd fully argue that the Gunslinger is on par with some of the better perks and does deserve to be in that slot. The other pistol perks not so much, though.
Pistol Pack DLC was added after the game was completed so adding pistol slot or something like that would require lots of changes, coding and new mechanics, thats why they put in as perks.
I see, you are right but saying that this DLC is useless is just wrong!
It comes down to personal opinion man, what you find useful I find useless. If you like the pistol pack that is your right, but just accept that not everyone is going to agree with that statement.
Edit: Mostly a needless mention for the support pack, but I just LOVE the Sickle.
