And the starting faction is:
Illuminates :-(
Finished the war and it starts again with Illus! NOOOOOOOOO
Just remove them from the game! Or at least keep them off the weekend!!!
You want to remove a whole faction from the game just because you don't like them....nice logic. Anyway random is random and the game happened to pick the Illum again to start again.
Some people shift over from the bug and cyborg fronts once they're knocked out, but others - like myself - just stop playing until the war restarts. So, everything in mind, the least popular faction in the game ends up being one of the longest-running.
Now, who thought it'd be a good idea to make the campaign restart against the final faction of the last campaign, I'll never know. It's happened for the last two or three campaigns and it's gotten really old.
Personally, it's the reverse controls that always get me. It's bad enough for movement. but reversing Strategem inputs also is just dirty.
The trick is to maintain your distance, don't get swarmed by walkers, and for the love of all that is free, just shoot the damn nano orbs as they spawn to prevent said control screw-ups. If you run perpendicular to the nano orbs, they miss and have to circle around again to hit you. When they're circling around their AOE explosion is outside your PC's hurtbox and you can shoot it down and focus on the others.
If they really piss you off that much, bring a high-power weapon/strat and waste them before they have a chance to screw your team over. Explosives and piercing weapons make quick work of even the heavies if you focus on them. CAS and strafing runs also work wonders on walker swarms and pop the shields on the big bads.
Just use the personal shield and that will help limit the snipers and the mind control.
