Chatting with Adrian does nothing?
With Roy it seems like after I've fixed his car or chilled with him for a half a day he says something like "nice weather" or whatever to let me know I've spent enough time. With Adrian she complained I never have time for her, but I just chatted for a full day and a half and nothing happens. Do I have to chat on multiple different days or how does it work?

They both give off a visual cue whenever one of their needs is met.

Roy has two needs: for social company, and for his car to be fixed. If either need is already met (his car is already fixed,) you will get no verbal indication that you are wasting your time. If you're unsure whether it's filled, you should just ask him for whatever favor you want. He'll either grant it or give you some indication why not. He'll announce that his car is fixed by exclaiming how great it is that you're helping him, and that you've talked with him for long enough by complimenting the beer.

Adrian works differently. Her only need is for your attention, expressed through any combination of time and money. Adrian's cue is also visual, but not verbal. A series of bursting pink hearts will shoot upwards out of her. It happens only once, and will not happen again until you select the "fall in love" option so she can grant you a useful buff. It's possible that while you were talking to her, you looked away or weren't looking for them and missed the hearts. Regardless, if you've been chatting with her for what feels like too long with no hearts, try falling in love to see if you already passed the mark.

If you are in fact getting no prompt from her, she was probably already seduced successfully a day and a half ago. Just select the "fall in love" option. You can't meet her needs twice; she can be chatted with but not fallen in love iwth when the previous buff is still in effect.
