Shop Constantly Crashes the Game

I bought the game yesterday, beat it once, and decided to use some of my new currency in the Shop. The game immediately froze and I had to Ctrl-Alt-Del to get out. This morning, I tried again with the same results. I changed the resolution to 640x480 and could navigate the first character's shop, but when I switched to Reaver the game crashed. Has anyone else had this problem? Is this something the designers are aware of?...
