Linux ps4 controller not working

My controller works under steam and in other games, but doesn;t work in Iconoclast. Even when I selected it in menus it doesn't work. Like it's not there :(

Does input not work at all? What happens if you run the game outside of Steam?

Some games don't work for me with a DualShock 4 unless I disable Steam's PS4 controller configuration support in the settings. Have you tried without that enabled? (I don't have Iconoclasts yet, so can't confirm if it works or not. Just trying to be helpful).

It's not with DS4 either, it's with any controller that was registered as steam controller.
I think it's a conflict with system libraries and steam's runtime (I use native runtime on Arch).

Works fine for me with a steam controller and a PS 4 with or without the steam input API taking care of the PS4 controller

I picked it up this morning and DualShock 4 (via Bluetooth) works fine. I have the Steam configuration setting turned off, because of other games (as I mentioned earlier). I did not try with my Steam Controller yet.

Wired 360 controller seems to work fine with the game on Ubuntu 16.04.

I also had the same problem, that the DS4 worked out of the box for some titles and didn't work at all for others. the following helped me:

go to Settings > Controller > Desktop Configuration (Here all key assignments were empty.)
load here a default key mapping (or according to your preferences)

now it should work. (PS: I have tried all the above options and it did not work for me)
