40 fps average with a 3700x and a 3060ti and 1440p
Is this normal i feel like the game is so unplayable at times because when it spikes down im legit on 15 fps. is there any way to fix this or maybe a file i can go into to increase my fps?

maybe try to mess around with the power plan https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/threads/what-fixed-stuttering-and-random-framerate-spikes-in-games-for-me.327264/ otherwise i think you will need to upgrade to something like a 5700x3d
SaVage Nov 14, 2024 @ 9:55pm
Yes it's quite normal on a fully populated server especially. I also struggle on my 5700x and get 40fps on bad maps, best i ever really see is 80 fps. When seeding with 10-20 players I can easily get 120-130 fps. Like pala mentioned above the 5700x3d could be a good upgrade. squad really loves the extra cache.

change resolution to any other then change it back.
there is bug that ♥♥♥♥♥ on your fps especially when you newly installed it.
hope it helps
go full screen mode. go dx 11. go with dlss balance
update you cpu to something like a 5700x3d cost 180 euro sell the old one for 50 euro.
you will get avg 100fps with this setting.

Go into your BIOS, disable SMT and something called "preffered cores" then make sure your ram XMP profile is ON and save.
Download quickcpu and make sure all 4 options bottom left are moved to 100% then hit apply.
You should get much better perfomance.
Game use dx12.

Dont use dlss it just reduces your resolution and upcales it = worse visuals, just lower all settings to low.

I was wondering why my game was blurry when I reinstalled it even though I play at 1440p. Changed from 1080p back to 1440p and now it's back to normal. Thank you.

i have a 1440p monitor used with DLDSR 1.73x in-game setting 3413x1920p and dlss balance. you need to try if you have a good GPU.
1080p its flickering.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c3voyiojWl4&t=921s This video shows how good dldsr with dlss works.
i play with rtx 3070.

on 1440p monitor 4k setting in the game with dlss balance vs 1440p dlaa

for all gamers with rtx 40 and powerful rtx 30 series go with DSR in squad, nvide control panel->3D settings -> DSR factor 1.78 and 2.25. sharpen to 10%
after you do this setting go to ingame and set your resolution higher than your monitor can handle. set dlss to quality if you use the res 1.78 oder balance with the resolution 2.25

it gives you 30% sharper picture with more details, no impact on performance. see on the picture, best you zoom in. or try it in-game you will see it :)
if you normally play with 1080p or 1440p you can go with a higher resolution,
i have a 1440p monitor. but with DSR on i can go with a resolution to 4k. then use dlss Balance.
it will give you a much better picture than 1440p with DLAA only.
It's also nice for player on 1080p monitors if they want to get sharp.

I have i7 with 13mb of L3 cache. I also have a 3070. i'll try it and let you know if I crash or not. lol
ColdZero Nov 17, 2024 @ 6:05pm
Well I tried it. No crash. What I did like and noticed a difference even on desktop and browsing YT was this: DSR factor 1.78 and 2.25. sharpen to 10%. It made everything just a little bit more sharp. When I opened Squad I noticed the difference too. Excellent!

I tried 4k with DLSS balanced but had a lot screen tearing so I brought it back down to 2k. Objects far away look blurry to me. I turned off DLSS and AA so I will try it again with these settings off.

EDIT: Turned off DLSS and put AA on LOW with 8x. Works for me.

You can spam all you want, native resolution is simply superior, get over it maybe that way you start seeing enemies past 20m.

if you're am4 and can't afford am5 I'd go for a 5800x3d cpu. Mine runs squad normally 100-160 fps
