LAT is way too weak
Honestly this game has become so frustrating to play infantry when there are so many vehicles with 50 cal and MGs and LAT cant do jack to. I just saw an MTLB with an AA gun take 5 lats and just get tracked and kill everything. And ive seen this so many times where LAT (and many times HAT) need to hit vehicles a stupid amount of times, and most times they just repair in field and drive off. Is this another bug!?

Seriously whats the point of LAT in game now? Cant kill a logi truck, cant kill and light vehicle. Cant kill a chopper. Especially now after ICO adding suppression and min arm just makes it so bad now. It's gotten to the point where I dont see the point of my squad taking LAT because it wont do anything. Right now this is the biggest frustration of Squad to me right now and it just makes me and my friends rage quit.

I know the inspiration for Squad is PR, so why not take the AT/ Veh balance that had? LAT actually felt useful in that. Im a hardcore inf player in PR for 10+ years and been playing Squad since day one and for some reason it just feels so much worse now. Probably because the availability of vehicles with guns now.

Should be:
1 LAT can kill Logi/ Trans/ Light vehicles
2 or 3 LATS kill APCs depending on which ones
Need HAT or a crap ton of LATs to kills Tanks

Depends where are you aiming. LAT is just stronger projectile, not fist of god.

Still i agree the game is half-baked and never be finished.

PS: aim for wheels, tracks, then you will bake even tank...

Just tested on training range MTLB vs US M72LAW.
Training range damage models arent the same as on a server. Always been like that, no idea if they ever care to fix it.

TLF gets HATs now. Was a couple patches ago (Although that may only be on some versions of the faction, I cant remember exactly)

Yeah i agree aswell. Anti tank is a long road of hit and misses and allot of the times the hits seem to do no critical damage to the vechile. Like i have instances of destroying a vechile afther having already taken like 2 hits i shoot @ it hit it still no explosion or vechile destroyed. thats just way too much. Lodgi's should maybe take about 1-2 hits max. Right now the vechiles just dominate. I see these people with high kills you can already tell they where gunner on a vechile.

Or have you seen RPG's take out a chopper. I ve seen hits that did absolutely nothing it just fly's off like nothing happend. And yeah choppers have rockets in them mods but the infantry has allmost nothing to defend itself against such treats. Hitting a moving chopper can be hard as hell and takes allot of ammo to repeat what your doing. AT's have their role they are anti-vechiles missiles which should be able to take out the armor with a well placed hit. And each hit should give the vechile substantial damage. And damage to its functions.

Dont let them people using the vechile think they can take 1 good shot before they need to back down let the first one hit pretty much be deceisive .

Helicopters have always been a issue, mainly because of dsync, even if you get a direct hit on a chopper it wont register, which is why the only decent counter is a auto cannon or ZSU cannon.

Which is why when they first starting mentioning the idea about CAS helicopters and eventually did with the one marine map, many players were against it. Thats why a strat formed for that marine map where the Russians would take the scout car with the 30mm cannon and sit in the water shooting down helicopters right as they left spawn.

Agreed: Either AT weapons in Squad are too weak or vehicles are too tanky. Its ok, when an MBT can eat several LATS into frontal and turret armor and even a few from the sides, but all the IFV's, APC's, MRAP's and Trucks are way too tanky in Squad.

Either up damage of AT launchers or reduce vehicle HP across the board, additonally wheeled APC/IFV are too fast offroad (onroad speed is fine) and they need to be more prone to falling on the side when doing sharp turns at high speed.

To counterbalance it at the same time reduce vehicle ticket costs and maybe even vehicle spawn times.

Being able to pop a logi early on with one LAT would be a huge gameplay shift. People don't play defensive with that stuff like they used to. At least not on pub games.

So many matches I see vics driving alone within a few hundred meters of a contested objective and already get hammered. It would be instant death if LAT was buffed.

Maybe the gameplay would benefit if infantry was that scary to come across. Or it might be the opposite and early logi kills would happen more often resulting in way more steamrolling.
More powerful but less LATs sounds like a great idea. Plus it would give more usage to the other support kits since you would not have all those ultra serious SLs demanding grab 2 AT kits speech at the beginning of each round. When everyone has to worry about armor at the detriment of infantry the game becomes a bore.
sounds ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ horrible; the problem, like most things in this game, is not the mechanics, it is the players fumbling around helplessly. That's why the ICO is trash, that's why 'balancing' AT kits will never work, that's why many matches end up with one team floundering without at least one decent fob 20 minutes in. People from the top to the bottom are too dumb and slow to actually play this game.

It's a shame, I really enjoy this game, even after the worst update I've ever seen in gaming dropped, thanks to modded servers. The ratio of braindead enemies to entertaining challenge is abysmal. That's just life, however; I certainly do believe people are too slow, because I have never met anyone irl who actually does things properly in a timely manner.

There was a good balance in like 2019. Then they rebalanced armour so lats could basically no longer effectively kill them.

I would be down for a compromise.

Make LAT stronger, but only 1 per squad (like PR)

Make Vehicles HP weaker, but make the aiming reticles better. Some are so bad for trying to aim tanks at close range
