quick question
i'm gonna post this in tech support as well, but i have 4gb of VRAM, but the graphic menu is telling me i have 3,935mb. i'm just curious. i feel like i remember it saying 4000 yesterday, but i'm not sure. why might this be?

my game menus will also say less than what my GPU's VRAM is.

i believe this is because the game is showing currently available VRAM, and your other programs (like Steam or a web browser), will also be using some small amount of VRAM.

someone please correct me if i'm wrong

May also depend on GPU - I have a 4GB 970 but in reality the card has slightly less than 4GB..

They do round that number. This laptop says 6g vram i think but in graphics test its a bit lower. It always does that, its just rounding up.

GPUs tend to float around the advertised VRAM some have a couple megabytes more some less my old Rx580 sat at 4.1 GB.

some have more, some have less its a rounded number to sound nice instead of saying its a RX580 4057MB, it doesnt really roll of the tongue. the RX 580 4GB is easier to say and 100mb of VRAM is really nothing

No, they have exactly the marketed amount of VRAM. The amount AVAILABLE at said time varies.
