UE5 update is getting close which will bring and open the path to a lot of new things. Arma and Squad are vastly different games, Arma is a milsim, more hardcore. While Squad is not.

PvP gameplay in Arma Reforger is not even remotely similar to Squad other than you're in cammies and you have a rifle. First and foremost Arma Reforger is not approachable. You need to devote an entire afternoon searching to find a decent server and then once you're in the objectives are super vague and undefined. Even the original Operation Flashpoint game was more intuitive than Reforger. Whatever though, good luck.

Have had a lot more fun with the, so far, 10h- sh1t sandwich that is learning Arma. The last 10 months in Squad - dealing with the weirdos Im forced to play with, and dirtbag admins and their boyfriends trolling me :D pale in comparison to my experience in Arma so far. Yo if you guys can make the switch Im pretty sure you'll have fun with it. It is pretty cool. And nobody says you have to stay either.

Both are good for a few different reasons and both have great potential, play them both from time to time.

I really want to find a replacement to Squad. If Arma could get away from inventory management and streamline weapons/gear/bandages then I would have left. I am hearing much more positive news about Arma. ICO ruined Squad with unrealistic weapon handling. It was also a slap in the face to players who grew with the game from early access, 1.0 release and beyond. The scopes, and the lack of competence in implementing PiP scope, have ruined performance even worse than the game had upon launch. The fact they advertise PiP scopes as a positive demonstrates they don't care. I hope Arma will get the game down to the core which Squad does do. Squad style play but with the competence of a team that doesn't ruin their game years later would be a winner.

Stopped playing reforger after the first few hours when I noticed US teams just sit at arsenal the whole game then proceed to take out a vehicle solo and die immediately. Rinse and repeat, 8/10 games opfor wins lol

Playing opfor is also boring cause of the lack of enemies to shoot lmfao

Meh, movement in Arma is too snappy, robotic, and unnatural. Maybe one frame between high ready and aim-down sights. Maybe ICO was overdone at some point, many will argue, but the opposite extreme is just as bad to me. Also the sounds are pretty bad. People have to install mods to make Arma gunfire/explosions sound better and it still sounds like a kid playing on an electronic keyboard drum-pad from the 80s.
