Squad
Running simulator
Spent a whole game with a full squad just following orders. All that happened is we would run to a marker then die without seeing the enemy. In 1 match I only saw a single enemy for like 2 frames before dying. How do people find this fun?

Get better. Find an experienced SL. Play with friends.

This game offers very little enjoyment at the individual level; the game is all about the teamwork.

Yeah there was a lot of teamplay, the squad I was in was full and very cohesive. Stuck together and communicated. I wasnt playing as an individual.

That's the thing about coordinated teamplay - some groups see action, others dont. If everyone runs toward the action (as usually happens in pub sessions), the undefended HAB or friendly capture point will usually get taken by the enemy. Every squad (and every member within a squad) has to cover its assigned area and accomplish its assigned task.

Yes, you might have some boring sessions, but I can assure that a few boring moments are a lot more enjoyable than getting steamrolled due to a lack of coordination.

bar of entry is pretty high, your experience will vastly vary depending on your squad leaders performance

if it quacks like a duck and walks like a duck its a duck. If you aren't having fun that's because the game isn't fun.

Either your SL "wasted" the Squad doing something that turned out to be rather unimportant or he did not plot your routes and objectives very well.

When your Squad is doing something relevant the enemy is being put under pressure to prevent you from doing whatever is, maybe forced to expose themselfes (move). When you just ran straight onto an defended objective with enemies in cover/concealment without any support (Mortars, Arty, vehicles) of course you die without seeing enemies.

Sledge is a squad 44 fanboy, their entire clan is filled with LARPers who think they're in the military and have fun pretending together while sucking at a video game.

You will get 1/10 games where you have fun, and live on copium that it will get better until you finally can't lie to yourself further and uninstall. Squat peaked 3+ years ago and ICO killed off players who made the game work.

It's worse when you see enemy, but can't hit because grandpa wobble hands. Before ICO it was the best game on market. Now - bag of trash.

The amount of cringe and cope on this thread, and the steam forum overall, is beyond comprehension.

Squad is doing absolutely fine as a game - it has well-designed maps w/ well-balanced factions, the game modes make sense w/ realistic objectives, the game is optimized well-enough (for an OWI title).

If anyone here is complaining about how the game is crap, don't listen to them. Play the game and decide for yourself. There are thousands of concurrent players with well over a dozen active servers at any given time of day. The game is healthy and alive, you just need to find a decent server and group to play with. This is not a game that is meant to be played by a bunch of individuals joining ad-hoc teams; it's meant to be played by a bunch of teammates and friends who are willing to cooperate with one another.

If you don't like the game, don't play the game. The only people who spend time on this steam forum are the naysayers who have nothing better to do with their time.

blah blah ... see what I mean?

Guy is trying to sell people to play the game because he needs people to play with since Squad 44 can't fill 4 full servers on the weekend and Squad is quickly following suit as being a trainwreck disaster.

This is the same bromosapien that had to convince people to keep playing squad 44 even though it's spiraling out of control with 0 hope left in sight. We all knew it would die after Iwo Jewma.

Same guy who pretends to have military ranks and play soldier with other disillusioned history artists.

Game is FINE BECAUSE I HAVE LOW OR NO STANDARDS AT ALL

If anyone needs an example of someone who has no life outside of his computer, look no further than this guy. Thank you for remembering all of those details, because without that context I think this conversation would have truly lost all meaning.

Game is fine because there are thousands of players getting into it and having fun on a daily basis. You and your forum bro's can type whatever you want; that doesn't make the game any less fun for those of us that actually play it.

Way more productive than going to forums where people complain about a game to tell them to keep playing the game and recruit more n00bs to go LARP with you and your nerd friends

I didnt tell anyone to keep playing if they dislike the game, in fact I told them to do the opposite.

But I'll LARP myself back into believing that you or anyone else here really gives a crap about having a productive conversation.
