New player to squad? You'll love it.

I'm a new player to this game and I have been testing different mil-sim/arcade games lately to see what can really get to that itch and this ones it. If you like Insurgency, mixed with a little Battlefield then here is what you're looking for. It's Arma but updated to a more modern multiplayer experience. Arma has it's place, but the gun fighting isn't really it. This game pretty much checks all the boxes I need/want in a game.

- No sliding around.
-No jumping around corners shooting.
-Communication
-Point firing (Seriously they did a phenomenal job with that)
-Recoil isn't some uncontrollable mess for the sake of "muh realism".
-Distance combat is AWESOME.
-CQB is AWESOME.
-Sound design is great.
-Particle effects cranked to the "cinematic" mode is insane.

The game takes some getting used to, takes a little learning but the community in the servers that are listed as beginner friendly have been nothing but friendly the last 15 hours I have played. I would HIGHLY suggest playing those servers for a good long while to you get the flow.

The big thing is, learn what the HAB/FOB is, learn what the rally points are and how they work when it comes to restocking gear. Just cause you respawn doesn't mean you start with full kit. You only do that if you spawn at main base, which is usually SUPER far away from wherever you need to be, unless you're doing logi runs.

Logi runs? That's where you're gonna take supplies from the main base and deliver them to other HAB/FOBs for the Squad Leaders to be able to build more stuff and fortify the position. It feels pretty good delivering tons of supplies to HAB/FOBs all over the map and each time you return they got more and more stuff.

There's a lot to it, but you'll learn and get it. Don't let the old timers bring you down and tell you the games bad, or that you're bad cause you don't get every single role and how they work together etc.


Just wanted to make a positive post since all I see is negative posts all the time and the game being bad or they hate it cause XYZ. I think this game will be the game I'm playing till something like this comes along but better. Which could be a very long time I reckon.
