Increase Squad Size
Squad size should be capped at 15. The amount of people who actually know and want to play as SL is very small and most players have no mics and just want to be ordered around. This would increase the amount of resources that SL's have available and give the grunts some guidance instead of just wandering around under a SL who doesn't want to play as SL.

But then squad would become unmanageable- leading to even less amout of ppl wanting to SL.

Better would be to reduce total player count on server but thats up to servers owners (cheaper for them too if they are paying per slot)

80 slots still can be licenced

I strongly disagree with this post but to each their own..... It would be cool to have custom game options so if people wanted to try stuff like that out they could but being that I play in servers where pretty much everyone is communicating I would not be able to handle 14 other people talking on comms the entire match every match... Its hard enough being a SL and having to listen to that many voices plus prox chat when comms are active

New SL's would probably do better with a 4-5 man squad.

I have 3,000 hrs in the game and sometimes I don't even feel like dealing with 9 people, but it helps to have an FTL who can show initiative and be able to micro other guys a bit while still staying focused on the overall objective.

Problem is if you lock a squad everyone (who doesn't want to lead a squad themselves) will b**** at you in chat, ceaselessly.

15 ppl who don't actually want to help each other are just that. Not even 15 SLs for each of the 15 grunts can change the outcome.
If the 15 grunts truly want the teamwork it is still optimal for 2 ppl to be managing that. Imagine 15ppl trying to relay info to you ontop of you trying to read the situation and communicating with the other 8 SLs..
At the end of the day it is entirely up to the admins to provide a good game on their server- if the teams are not actively balanced it will be ♥♥♥♥.

If the oversaturation of comms is an issue, they could make so that only only FTLs have direct radio communication with the SL, and regular squadmates can be only heard through proximity chat.

Earlier in the PR, players followed SL otherwise they were kicked. SL itself is under big pressure but with mine exception i have never experienced a FTL leading, managing their teams.

Squad is just best Battlefield on the hand.

Fireteams should have their own voice channel. Never understood why those are not in the game yet. As soon as charlie and bravo are split up the squad voicechat is filled with useless call outs.

Fire teams do have their own channel - it's the local voice comm. Not many take the game that far tho. Easier to not get as involved. After all this is not Arma, and ppl kinda don't want to think too hard.

Fire teams are supposed to be close enough to be in proximity channel only, silly boy.

Should already be a feature, got the buttons for it already since SL has 3 layers of voip.

SL voip structure
Top level - Command
Mid level - Squad
Low level - Local

FTL voip structure
Top level - Squad
Mid level - FT
Low level - Local

Squaddie in an FT
Top level - Squad
Mid level - FT
Low level - Local

Or you can flip it between Top and Mid if you want at the FT voip level just for ease of button memory.
