And thats a bad Gaming Standard imo
Edit: I looked into your profile, you have a 144Hz monitor. Then I have even more questions on how is having smoother video in a FPS is a bad game standard?
+1
I have a i7-8700k, a 2070 super and play at 1080p 144hz at max settings and struggle to get 85 when my usual was 85-110
"I don't have a performance problem, must be just you, try clearing your shader cache"
NO that is not going to work unless you already have a supercomputer and you're having lag. For people with midline computers this update just killed their game with all the shadows and textures. It doesn't matter how high or low the textures are, there's simply too many of them.
Not accurate. I'm running a 4-5 year old pc with the only recent update been going from a 1050ti to a 1660ti, and the game is running good so far. So it's not going to be a case of Low/Mid range being ♥♥♥♥♥♥. There are people on the discussions who are running 30x0 series cards and using newer CPU's and they are saying they have performance problems as well.
You should not be comparing it to Low/Mid/High range PC's but more along the lines of combinations of the different hardwares and installed drivers/firmwares for the devices that use them. This can and will amount to thousands of different hardware configurations and driver/firmware version combinations for gfx card, motherboard, hhd's/ssd's, even cpu's can have specific drivers that can be installed that most people don't know about or don't bother with. The people who like to vomit the word Optimisation every 2nd/3rd thread should bare this in mind.
Looks how old the engine is, it is not running the latest available so those opts may not be as good as a result. An unfortunate consequence when a code base contains so much custom code now that an update to a later version of UE4 would be very hard and time consuming to even contemplate.
solved.
Meanwhile, on the other hand running Squad built with Unreal Engine 4.23 from 2019 I'm lucky to get 20-30 fps now regardless of low or cinematic settings with cpu and gpu utilization both under 16%.
If you've got a spare 205GB of space and your computer meets the minimum specifications go ahead and try it then you'll see for yourself that its a "them" problem and not a "you" problem.
Edit:
ok the performance is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ garbo rn.
Just bought myself a 3060 and was happy to game on medium at around 80 fps.
Now im running this game at 50 fps on low settings.....
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hell.
I dont understand how you can say that you saved performance with the new lighting/shadow system etc and then we end up with half of the fps on new gen gpus.
