Is Squad worth trying to get into now as a solo
I've tried getting into Squad multiple times but never took off, likely because I was a rando joining other squads. I tried a newbie server and we all just got wiped by an enemy tank sitting outside the base so I'm lost trying to get into it.

Because your discussions page is caked in people complaining about stuff and due to Chinese influence on the developer.

solo player here. when playing solo you just have to know the timing when certain servers are most likely to be (at least trying to be) fun. fun as in playful but still competitive. ALSO its very good to simply use your mic and ask questions and hopefully provide initiatives for the squad. if you dont know something, either seek information or dont do it. also server filters, use that to your advantage.

i recommend potato fields to start, from there just try servers with different playstyles to find one that suit yours. also try modded servers! theyre nice.

also in general, your experience will heavily rely on the squad leader in terms of abilities, comms, etc. just saying that to set expectation for a new player coming in. sometimes losing with a good squad is so much better than winning with a "bad" one.

in the end i would say getting into squad as a solo is worth it as long as you indulge in the comms and teamwork part of the game. i hope you have fun and good luck friendo

Cool thanks, I have no problems communicating in games like this, I'll def start on potato and see how it goes, thanks.

I have been solo my entire gaming journey and have always picked games solely on my own. Now, there are a couple I would only play with friends (like League of Legends or Dota 2) but that's because I'm not really into those games. Now, are you into mil-sim games? If yes, regardless if you are solo or with friends, it'll be fun.

I want to be, I've tried ARMA3 and watched some of Drewskis stuff and i feel like I could get really into it with the right group.

No. Every server is full of insta squad locks with 3 people in them forcing you to Squad lead and listen to 8 sweaty mouth breathers with ZERO mic etiquette.

SPOT ON

I can only say, it is what you make of it. Find the right group of random ppl, have fun. If you're not having fun- change squads.
Be on the lookout for ♥♥♥♥ server admins tilting the table- i.e. making one team be an endless conga line of newbs or bad players, while the other team wins game after game.
Good admins balance teams- ♥♥♥♥ admins don't. If you see 2 games in a row with more than 200 tickets difference - bail..

lmao that is about 70-80% of random squads, sadly.

No, if you're actually looking for a tactical mil experience, this game IS NOT IT.
Depends on if you are ok wasting 1-2 hours of your time per match for five kills and be called 'good'

just find a squad leader you like playing with and stay with him on the server for a while and learn how to play as a squaddie. Then start playing as an SL after a while and learn that part of the game
