ANYWAY TO HOST A SERVER W/O PAYING FOR ONE

As the title says. I'm asking because I've noticed an app on Steam called "Squad dedicated server" and I was curious if this app had anything to do with server hosting so I can play with friends. Not interested in playing with other people, just trying to do a group of friends vs the Squidders AI bots mod. If you have any knowledge or insight on how to work it hmu, thanks.

You can host it on your PC (if it strong enough)

But you need to have networking knowledge and ideally static IP broadband with few other caveats re networking.
