RTX 3060 terrible fps
i set everything on low, i changed to directx11, i tried almost everything and my fps are around 40 (gpu usage around 40-50% and cpu 30% usage) is there any way to make it run smoother or is it just horribly optimised?

Horribly optimized.

do people just function on 50fps? or only NASA PC players are able to run this game

Even with latest Ryzen and a 4090 people are still dipping into 50 FPS range.

There is inefficient code waiting to be found by a skilled developer.

I capped this game at 62 fps because otherwise it crashes often.

The 30% CPU usage you mention represents 100% use of one thread/core.
The important thing is what CPU you have, which you do not say. GPU not very important in this game.

I got a Ryzen 7 5800x, 64 gb ram amd expo enabled, rtx 3060 ti overclocked and i get an average of 80-120 fps on high settings, had to turn off dx12 for the game to even work fps wise, had stuttering and lag spikes before dx 11 was enabled

is there any way to utilise all of the CPU cores?

I cleared my cache. All my settings were deleted but anyway, I left it in border-less with my native resolution and game ran pretty well. No crashes. I'll keep playing and update.

Go to SETTINGS and at the bottom you see clear cache.
do yourself a favor and get lossless scaling on steam it has frame generation for all

Had the same problem. Tried everything. Always at 40-50 fps no matter what I did. So I read somewhere that the Ryzen 7 5800X3D works very well with Squad. I bought it and I get about 90-100 fps on average. Sometimes I can play a whole game at 120 fps (depends on map I guess). Best investment I have ever done in my entire life. I had a Ryzen 5 3600 before that. My GPU is an RTX 3070 if that matters.
