your 10400f is not really intended as a gaming CPU as well..., its got a low tdp but also low clockspeeds and realtively weak single thread performance.
https://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu=Intel+Core+i5-10400F+%40+2.90GHz&id=3767
The limiting factor on your system is the CPU when it comes to Squad, its two most demanding processes have to run on a single thread each, when the single thread performance of the cpu ain't that great it will result in low fps, no matter the GPU.
yep, some maps are worse than others tho. Im playing with 5800x and 4070, 32 GB RAM and Squad on M2, playing in 1440p.
I get acceptable fps on all the smaller maps, also on Fallujah, Gorodok, Yeho, Talil, Kohat etc. fps are usually stable above 60 even in heavy action, nearly 100 when not much going on.
On Skorpo and Black Coast fps are worst fpr me, on both maps im almost consistently below 60 fps.
