Ryzen 5700x3d
I currently have ryzen 5 5600, 32gb ram 3200, rx 7700 xt 12gb. I'm planning to upgrade my cpu to 5700x3d, will that do better than my 5600?

save a bit more money and buy 5800x3d to be at the max capibility of am4 chip
Vidarr 4/jun./2024 às 10:32
That would be the best I know, but 5800x3d is a lot more expensive. Does somebody has 5700x3d, just to know how it works with this game?

Just save up some more and buy a 5800X3D instead, it'll be significantly better in the long run - it's genuinely one of the best "medium budget" CPUs out there right now, and probably will be for at least a few years to come. There's no use in getting a worse version of it with considerably slower clock times, which may cause a bottleneck.

5800X3d is the way

i found one comment in this reddit thread saying he gained 30-40 fps, but he's coming from a 3500. https://old.reddit.com/r/joinsquad/comments/1dbbr8n/is_squad_the_type_of_game_that_would_benefit_from/

Dont listen to this idiots saying about buying 5800x3d. There is no sense in buying for 100$ more cpu which is better only like 3-5%. 5700x3d is the best price/performance choice and you will get significant gain from that upgrade in squad and similar cpu intensive games. Made same upgrade from 5600x.

5700x, 5800x and 5800X3d seem to perform rather similiar in most games indeed:

Who asked about 5700x? And x3d versions are better for like 20-30% in cpu heavy games like rust, tarkov, squad, DD2 and etc

Okay, I read this thread before buying and got all the useless people's inputs. I decided to bite on it and find out, and return like the one true king, and move my 5600x to my NAS. I have doubled my FPS. Definitely a solid buy for Squad.

I can confirm also. Went from 5600 to 5700x3d, cache is king here.

5800 great experience, but maybe its bad time for upgrading... Wait after new CPU hit the market, than older could go for better prices.

5800 worse than 5600 in games, its not good experience at all, lol

i never had any issues with the 5800X frame wise in any games, and its only a minor decrease from the 5800X3D

5800x3d like 30% faster than 5800x, what are you talking about?

its only a 100 frame difference on a majority of games which isnt nothing if you can run the game good at 100+ fps already and you're just only just paying extra for frames you wont be able to see half the time or even at all

the only reason youd want the X3D is if you have money to spare and are on a 240 HZ monitor, and only on a AM4 socket, and notice how specific that scenario is.

either way in squad you can't really bruteforce the bad optimization and stutters.
