Squad

ICO needs environmental stabilization mechanics. Like SQ44/RS2.
Part of the issue I have with ICO is that the game doesn't let you stabilize your weapons on the environment for basic kits like you can in Post Scriptum(SQ44) and the RO2/RS2 games.

In those games, you can lean your guy up against the side of a tree or on a low wall to stabilize the weapon after running, even with a basic rifle.

Combined current ICO with that emergent type of environmental stabilization I think would make elevate the entire system ten fold.

Like, part of the strategy ought to be being aware of where you're going to stabilize if you have to after running a while. Not, outright deterring players from running or moving.

That's why right now the combat feels so sluggish where everyone is trying to mediate their stamina and increase stability the best way they can, which is just prone-ing on the ground, so everyone just slow crawls at each other a lot of the time.

If you add those types of mechanics into Squad, I think ICO would feel way more natural. While the overall goal of ICO would remain.

Absolutely. Especially since much of the environment is made for standing positions which now you can't under any circumstances get a steady shot from. The whole time I'm thinking "I would use this ledge or tree or whatever". That bothers me but I'm learning to deal with it. That would alleviate some of my frustration with my favorite game.

I and many others have always said that Squad is rather light on mechanics that people would expect in a game like this and we gave feedback on this topic. It would have been nice to see these things being added over the past years but the devs went almost exclusively with content in the form of more factions. Now that even a relatively big rework like the ICO didn't bring anything new in this regard I don't think we will ever see more complex mechanics.

I saw that happen to a lot of good games over the years. It's really sad to watch especially when you have to experience it again after leaving for greener pastures.
