and I'll tell you why...
"aim assist" "crono zen"
aka in all modern FPS games because it so outrageously over tuned...
aimbot
Easy, don't add it? It's literally just a script to NOT add. Easy.
If you think me so ignorant, then please do enlighten me.
Overwatch, Apex Legends, Rainbow Six Siege, Warface, Ironsight.. PUBG, Vigor(an Xbox Only game with 0 aim assist)... Shall I keep going?
And yet still doesn't have aim assist. What does that say about said skill?
While I see your point, it does indeed have partial controller support as you mentioned. I believe it can be done, I do understand it would water down and compiled a lot of the buttons into menus, however I think using the current radial pie menu would be a good asset to console players if they chose to go that route.
I don't think the UI would suffer TOO much, I could see it being a pain in the ass to use the radial menus, but then again Squad is an FPS, and they aren't exactly known for being complex, I mean what if I had to assign the most interactive keys just by what we have on a controller I guess we can just go with the standard:
A / X to jump
B / O to duck
X / Square to reload
Y / Triangle for something
Right trigger to shoot
Left trigger to ADS / Alternate actions (like if you're using a shovel / bandage)
Left joystick to move (sprint if you press it down)
Right joystick to move your view
Select button to open the map / deploy screen
Start button for obvious menu screen
Maybe you could use the bumpers to access the radial menu, use the Y / Triangle button to access / leave vehicles
But the only thing that leaves out is the d-pad which I guess you could use it like how the WASD keys work when using emplacement / turrets where instead it just acts as a 0% > 100% in terms of turning speed where as you use the mouse / joysticks to get a more precise target.
Naturally there's likely I have forgotten but I can't account for everything.
As for optimisation... I mean honestly I'd happily take a graphics downgrade if it means the games gonna run a hell of a lot smoother and flow better, I'm not one for eye candy
Isn't the PS5 equivalent to a 3700X with a 2060 ? or even slightly weaker ? Would run but not great.
