Play battlefield for fun and run piw piw, a nice school Rambo boy)
It's the toxicity of arma's player that's normal. it's like that since the v6.
Its slower now and quickly rushing ahead and running and gunning your way against the odds basically never works anymore.
the IDEA is that Squads will now work closer together, on a very low level even. Like coordinating grenades, cover fire and so on.
Problem is Squad players are not used to that and will instinctively try to flank and rush like before, only it doesn't work anymore. Since everything is slower (movement, aiming) the enemy will have time to react.
Result is attacking has become much more difficult and has to be much better prepared and organized to be successful. Just dropping a bunch of guys near the objective and let them wiggle it doesn't cut it anymore in most cases.
Will take some weeks or even months for the community to properly adapt. Essentially you have to coordinate every move you make with your Squad now, make sure points where enemies could pop up are covered before you move etc. Doing it solo and relying on better reflexes will often not work anymore.
To be fair I have never done the first thing you mentioned in squad or at least I learned not to even before this update. I like playing as a team that's why it's fun.
I do have an idea of what you mean because it has felt like in recent times (even just before the ICO update) the game had shifted in a way. Is it just the way the gunplay feels, or how people communicate?
This update probably made that much worse. The guys I played with were chill gamers, we had no illusions about being keyboard warriors, but a lot of those very keyboard warriors feel like they got "more realism," and now believe themselves to be conscripts in the war.
Players are not aware of this, do not care or dont have patience.
In the PR, solo player never achieve anything. Even if he was able to take down somebody, squad would revive and there was no chance to win firefight against 3+ enemies.
Squad - until v0.5 instakill and worst with it, droped players often instant giving up.... you can see, how such things changed community (and gameplay).
wtf have you never gotten a multi kill before?, Xv1s are even easier now because suppression is so powerful, especially if they bunch up. Squads are less able to hunt you down as if they chaise you their accuracy becomes way worse as they try to recover their stam.
The way the gun play feels I guess and the movement feels strange.
