Im new at the game and ICO update is

Based on the footages ive seen of old pre-ICO gameplay, now the game is
PROS:
-realistic: you flinch, move and shake when a bullet are hitting close to you in real life and death situation.
-unique: no other games like squad besides Arma 3, this game isn't battlefield-like , cod-like anymore
-creates long engagements: increase aim difficulty gives more time to react and maneuver for both players firing team and counterfire team, more time to react, plan, create quick strategies and forces communication to escape and maneuver in and out of pinned down zones.
-reduces the rambo players shooting and running like john wick, that doesn't exist in real life.
-increases the necessity for communication, more community focus, more social focus, and the social aspect of the game creates infinite more dynamic situations, that can give a sense of fresh and ever evolving gameplay. Because now there can be real life strategies implemented to circumvent or use suppression, stamina and weapon shake. Strategies like fire and maneuver, bounding overwatch , center peel , frontal assault with grenadier suppression, and many more, without ICO, these tactics cant work effectively if any at all because all is facilitated by suppressive fire

CONS:
-you need to learn or relearn what you expect from others fps or pre-ICO squad. If you are stubborn then that's on you.

Yeah you have no idea what you’re talking about. You never played the game, and you’re making statements about its gunplay and overall tactical demands. The average kills in this game for Most players probably averaged around 5 in a typical game. All of the tactics you’re mentioning happened ALL the time.

Compare that to call of duty or battlefield. I don’t know why I keep engaging with the people on here, It’s just to see how deep the rabbit hole

How about another veteran- me? Someone’s who’s actually played the game and who’s telling you the actual truth? Eh why bother, I know the answer.

you sure have alot of hours into this game , mister private account with no information, if you dont want to believe i talked with veterans, then thats on you, i know i talked with veterans because i search for veterans to help me out , and everyone is enjoying the new changes ALOT, i havent found in 12 hours a single person complaining about the ICO, or raging about the aim, or upset about the sway of the weapons, everyone is having fun and some people is mad because someone didnt plan well enough a certain defensive position or attack.

its a little exageration but its true you can run and shot in pre-ICO is what im seeing in old footages of squad veterans, and thats what changes, you cant run and shot anymore like battlefield and cod.

Yeah ICO is the best thing squad introduced. Pre ICO was boring, unimmersive and arcady. Scopes were so strong that i personally never had a problem wiping a full squad going full auto with an ACOG M4.

ICO actually made iron/holo sights viable.

Vet here. ive been shot at and i for the life of me cant remember out of the times that ive been in those situations that i MAGICALLY FORGOT how to aim my rifle or i couldn't see ♥♥♥♥, blurry vision while being suppressed is ONLY a game mechanic,it doesn't happen in real life. heres the reality check for ya the only reason gun fights play out how they do is simply cause there's no fear of death no adrenaline surge no desperation and theirs no lingering thoughts (or you just auto-piloted that ♥♥♥♥ cause you couldnt care less). If you die you wait for Doc or just re-spawn, you lost the match join another, you got shot put a band-aid on it, you don't like the server join a different one. cant do that in real life.

Dont know what other Vets you've talked to but my question is whats their MOS cause i fear your info may be coming from someone in the 0100 field or something, cause aiming a weapon doesn't take that long and its not that hard either and managing the recoil (at least for most weapons) is rather easy irl but thats not the case in this game, if i got my d**k in the dirt and my sights on an enemy at lets say 200-300 meters out i can easily put 3 rds within 3 seconds accurately on tgt, im not saying im going to hit all 3 shots but more than likely most if not all of those rds are going to land home (speaking about 5.56). Now tho, after this overhaul you cant even put 3 rounds near your tgt in 3 seconds cause the recoil for each shot fired(if not braced) is comparably equal to that of something like a 7.62x51 or something of close proximity, hell maybe even a 7.62x54R(don't have too much experience with 54R IRL), the recoil is over excessive and the amount of scope sway is ungodly, its as if you just got done with 2 96's back to back and you ate all the wrong things and then did a logistic run with full kit and all you had for hydration was Redbull and beer, then had to do THE ROCK's work-out routine for arms.

suppression is whatever as its a balancing feature in games to help keep the enemies head down but if they could tone it down a little bit id have no quarrel with it then.

full-auto with something like the M4A1 is easy as well as long as you got a good stance/braced position and are ready for the recoil, now sighting in and going full-auto and being accuraste now thats a differnt story as youll be on tgt for the first shot the rest depends on how well you handle the weapon and manage the recoil.(and the distance to tgt)

All the RNG from the OG Squad is more realistic with the moving and shooting being a little bit questionable as you can stay fairly accuratle while moving at a rather fast pace (personal experience and training would help), only reason it doesn't play like real life is theres no attachment to your life in the game. Say some SAO ♥♥♥♥ happend or something then it be a different story.

I was "gud". Get that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ out of here. Whatever you thought you picked up watching a youtube video, you didn't. No one with a single brain cell could call Squad a CoD clone. That was stupid the first time it was uttered and it isn't more intelligent now.

Like I said, if people wanted to play Arma, then you should have ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ bought Arma. Squad wasn't perfect but it was great. Scopes actually worked like scopes. They weren't 1/15th of monitor size like someone is holding it 10 feet away from their eye. PiP is jagged and minecraft like. At 1440 ultra everything it still looks like ♥♥♥♥ and drops from 80 fps (which used to be 100-110 before) and turns it into 55-60. It's a garbage update and it ruined the game I bought 3 years ago.

I've played arma...

it is less authentic than squad...UNLESS...you mod the hell out of it and play with a clan that only gets together once a month.

However I think you might actually be 12. So yknow, might have to just let you age out of this phase.

Just go on steam, and see if there are some people with a lot of hours who don’t like the changes. I GUARANTEE you that there are.

And as far as getting gud— I don’t know what synapses need to connect for you people, but anybody who was a killing machine before? Is going to be now. They just have to go about it differently. I know, because my K/D has trended UP since the ico.

this guys knows his stuff.. people should pay attention to real life soldier when it comes to milsim games.

the rest of the comment section is just an angry little kid , who wants to shoot and run like a maniac, you have a game like that, its called fornite.
I myself prefer a milsim with realistic mechanics, fun gameplay and coordination. supression , strategy and real life combat tactics , not a circle jerk of 360 no scope headshot across the map.
