Game Will DIE if they implement new infantry overhaul
Just landed back on game after long pause to see whats all hyped about and got to testing oh boy this is prob worst desicion they have made

This is something i like the new suppresion system is good I was always wondering when will they buff it to be useful , maybe the new way its entering scope is slower which is fine more realism I am all for it but bro what are those scopes on US cmon man I cant see ♥♥♥♥ while Russian one are more zoomed in and taking more screen US one I cant see anything and weapon kick is way to high they have to reduce it and recoil is immense this recoil we have now is fine maybe up a little but what they have done its just sad u cant full auto if u dont have bipod dont even try and close combat hip fire should be more precise and over all faster method to shoot close combat when ur ability to pull out scope is dead i feel they over draged how much they want to increase firfights because I dont see anyone getting killed like this ever and dont get me even started on MEA what is that Faction guns already had immense recoil and u are giving it more comon the worst faction out of them all and Performance wise is very bad while scoping I get it they havent polished it yet but if its that bad now they can only help it so little it will still be somewhat laggy this ICO needs to keep only higher suppresion and reduce weapon kicks and recoil to make game enjoyable for larger audiences because I dont see them getting far with this update I am sorry I love the game and community but this has gone bit too far and streched yes game feels like spawn walk kill die I get it but thats what majority of people are in this game and game will probably lose a lot of players

Problem is, the ICO is for the bad players that cant keep up in normal squad and need to feel like they are doing something by shooting into bushes.

That being said, I quite like everything in the ICO except for the sway and the optic eye relief. Should be fighting the enemy, not the mechanics.
Shooting into bushes where the enemy is hiding is how you're supposed to play. It's also how small team tactics work. Suppress and maneuver, which isn't even possible in vanilla Squad. I agree suppressing a position with no intent to actually push the position is kinda dumb, potentially wasting ammo, but if enemies are there it still keeps their heads down or forces them to move. It's demonstrably more difficult and takes more skill to actually land hits too, though, so it never makes sense to me when people say the ICO is for unskilled players when the overhaul makes the game waaaaay more hardcore in a lot of ways.

Well theres the difference between difficulty and skill. Live Squad you get better you can aim better and click heads faster/more accurately. ICO you can't. The mechanics of the game "nerf" you under certain conditions that reward more unskilled play, like shooting into bushes.

Really the ICO makes the game harder for traditionally skilled players and makes the bad players actually more effective, because if you miss or not it will still have an effect.

ICO makes the game more difficult, but it doesn't make the playerbase more skilled because of it.

I disagree that leveraging the game's mechanics to defeat the enemy is somehow a display of "unskilled" play. It's unskilled in the ICO to not utilize suppression to your advantage. And yes, that includes a lot of shooting into trees and bushes, but it also includes houses, bunkers, anywhere the enemy is holed up at the moment. The point is to prevent them from shooting back so the rest of your squad/team can push in and wipe the enemy out. Players who understand this and use the new mechanics to their advantage are skilled, not unskilled.

Teamwork-oriented mechanics are good and what the game needs. If players with generally poor aim can grab a machine gun and have a genuinely meaningful impact on the game by suppressing the ♥♥♥♥ out of enemies and covering friendly advances, that's a good thing, not a problem. There are plenty of other players who are able to click on heads and finish off the enemy, even with the ICO changes. And even if the enemies are suppressed, somebody still has to actually, you know... kill them in order to capture flags and win the game.

Players will adapt to the new mechanics and emerging metas, just like they did throughout the entire lifetime of Squad and all its changes up until now. Skill is learned through practice. The ICO has had barely 2 weeks of cumulative up-time for people to play and learn. Give it time.

That isn't skill, it's the person who designed the aimbot they are using that had skill.

Thats why I said traditionally skilled. It doesnt take skill to shoot into a bush, at a building, or in a general direction. Knowing when and how to will be the real determining factor.

Fair enough. We're bandying words a bit, but ultimately I think we're on the same page.

I do think aiming skill (i.e. "traditional" skill) is still extremely important; you just can't really wipe an entire squad by yourself with a single magazine in the ICO by snapping your aim around like it's CS:GO (although I'm sure some mad lad has managed to do it by now anyway).

Honestly all you'd have to do is find a way to disable the new sight-sway mechanics and you'd have a decisive advantage over everyone else in the server.

Forgiving ops crazed rant. I have to say that they are wrong. This overhaul should, if anything, revive some what of the old player base who (like me for several years) decided to uninstall this P.O.S because it was solo COD snipers extreme.

That being said, please for the love of god would you fix the choppers flying like a power point presentation. Implement clipping on ALL trees, fix damage boxes of the artillery and soon. Fix the bugs that you implemented when implementing items/capability and so on.

I'd love if the kept the run speed. Implement the new scopes and remove stamina weapon sway and standing still sway unless when be suppressed. Bring it back to when the game came out. And keep vaulting. The new scopes will make it harder to shoot anyway. Just remove weapon sway. I'd think that would be the best to gain more players. I fear new patch will lose more than gain.

ICO came out 7 or 8 months ago.., must be any minute now player counts drop to zero.

Oh wait, first three months of 2024 had the highest monthly player averages in the history of Squad, but i guess it will be really soon the game dies because of ICO, lol.
