Where is the cache located?
Also, why?

Didn't need to, the patch cleared it for me without any consent.

how?
The Architect Feb 8, 2023 @ 3:47pm
1. Open "RUN" application
2. Type %appdata% and search
3. Find SquadGame folder in the Local sub-folder
4. Delete SquadGame

This will delete all pre-defined config settings for the game such as keybinds and video settings. The OWI core on Unreal really struggles with engine updates and this will clear up issues generated from past installed game versions. The patch should have forced a wipe, however this does not always work properly and a full delete is cleaner.

in the game settings there is an option called clear game cache. doing it will restart the game after and revert settings. as for why its recommended after each update to make sure the game settings are not conflicting with the old version which might cause issues.

or maybe just use the in-game option that is made for this task on purpose !!!!

This game is the issue, one having to set graphics again, key-binds and more is lame and a p.i.t.a. If they actually took the time there would be no conflict with settings and an update. This sham of a developer team just chooses to be lazy and not implement code that would allow for ones current settings to have to be cleared and set again over and over.

its not the devs, i studied game design for 2 years, its an UE4 thingy. well known for anyone that use UE4 to develop on.

Thank you, i will link this instead in the future.

The release notes said it was supposed to clear it automatically and to change settings back when you boot the game, though it's a good idea to do it yourself regardless.

for me it was not cleared.

If they can't even code it right to clear your cache, forcing us to try some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ magic ritual for a "potential" fix, why should I even bother?
BigCommunistHero Feb 9, 2023 @ 1:45pm
It didnt work anyways

Its not excuse. I bet all my money that the can do script to save key bindings and restore after update.
This is 2h job for one dev
First off that is a great reason, it's out of their hands. Second of all, if you took the time to Google it or just look at the settings, you would see that you CAN save your keybinds under presets.
