No audio and no audio device in list.

I just got the game and went to play for the first time. There was no sound. In the settings the list of audio devices to use is empty. My devices all work fine for everything else I do. I have tried everything I can find on google to solve the issue. Don't know what to do now. Does anyone know what is going on?

I have endless problems with winwoes forgetting my default audio settings.

A reboot normally fixes this crap for me (to be clear, I don't mean shut down, and then turn the computer on again, I mean actual restart)

Alternatively turn off "fast shutdown" it's basically hibernating, and it will hibernate the bugs and processes that are stuck in an insane state

I haven't looked into this since the original time. But I haven't fixed it. I've never played it. I also was in contact with the devs no result
